Relena joins her father on another diplomatic mission to the Colonies, and it ends in disaster when Lady Une, an operative of OZ, assassinates Vice Foreign Minister Darlian. This results in Relena being briefly held captive by Doctor J, one of the brains behind Operation Meteor. Meanwhile, Trowa parts ways with Quatre, and Duo finds out whether or not he can truly trust Heero.
This episode contains examples of the following tropes:
- But Now I Must Go: Trowa leaves Quatre and Manganac Corps behind when Heavyarms is fixed up.
- The Reveal: As he lay dying, Vice Foreign Minister Darlian tells Relena that he is not her father; her real name was Relena Peacecraft, and she was really one of the rightful heirs of the extinguished Sanc Kingdom.
- This also gives the suggestion that Zechs is related to her, since Noin used the last name for him in the previous episode, though it's only later that he is officially revealed to be her older brother, Milliardo Peacecraft.
- Roaring Rampage of Revenge: Relena is prepared to do this to Doctor J and his workers when she finds out her "father" is dead, assuming initially that they killed him.
- Stab the Scorpion: At one point, it looks like Heero is going to shoot Duo. But he was really aiming for a Leo behind him.
