The female angel angrily leaves when Lucifer strenuously insists that she is not his daughter. However, he realizes that he did come to Earth at the turn of the millennium and had sex with four different women. When one of them turns out to have lost contact with her daughter, Lucifer deduces that she might have been the female angel. Meanwhile, Dan struggles to fit in as a ghost with nobody to talk to except for celestials and demons.

- Bait-and-Switch: Amenadiel doesn't react when Dan tries to talk to him, leading Dan and the audience to assume that even angels can't see him. When Dan yells in frustration, Amenadiel looks up, revealing that he just had earphones in and couldn't hear when Dan was speaking at a normal volume.
- Barred from the Afterlife: There's a good reason why Lucifer never took Dan from Hell to Earth: once he became a ghost, he can never come back to Hell, which means that it will be difficult to find the source of his guilt.
- Battle Couple: With Chloe's pendant-induced super-strength, she and Lucifer are able to kick ass on the same level when they fight the guards at the avocado farm.
- Berserk Button: Lucifer is furious when he discovers that the gas station attendant has been keeping teenage runaways as prisoners on his avocado farm.
- Digging Yourself Deeper: Lucifer, when he claims not to have kept secrets from Chloe, ends up spewing them all one by one anyway.
- The Gadfly: Maze pretends that she can't see Dan's ghost and makes fun of his dress sense. She eventually admits that she was just doing it to mess with him.
- Invisible to Normals: Dan is unseen by everyone except for angels and demons.
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here: The female angel leaves when Lucifer denies being her father, saying she's glad that he wasn't in her life.
