Recap / Little Princess S 2 E 27 I Dont Want To Dance

Go To

The Maid is outside, searching for the Princess as it's "almost time". The Princess is hiding in a bush, and she explains that she's hiding from dance class. The Maid finds her and asks her why she doesn't want to go to dance class, so the Princess explains that they made her "be a butterfly". The Maid asks what's wrong with butterflies, to which the Princess says that they're "floaty and flappy" and she's neither.

She then runs into the kitchen, where the Chef is cooking and listening to the Can-Can. He asks if she's hungry, and she says that, no, she's hiding from dance class. He says that dancing is "wonderful", but she says it isn't because it's "floaty and flappy". The Chef says that he doesn't dance that way, and then pulls the General into dancing a can-can with him. The Princess thinks the can-can looks cool, but when she tries, she finds it too scary since the General and Chef are holding her up in the air. She leaves, and the Maid arrives looking for the Princess but the General and Chef play dumb.

In the living room, the King and Queen are also listening to music. The King then wants to show the Princess his and the Queen's dancing, but she's doubtful. Nevertheless, they waltz, but he keeps stepping on her foot, prompting the Princess to decide the waltz seems "too painful". She leaves, while the King and Queen argue over whether he's clumsy or she goes too fast. The Maid asks the King and Queen if they saw the Princess, and this time, they tell the truth.

The Princess then asks to hide in the Prime Minister's office. He gives her permission and asks what she's hiding from. She explains that it's dancing, but the Prime Minister likes to dance. The General enters, and the two men begin to tango. The Maid passes and is about to ask if they've seen the Princess, but when she sees them tangoing, she laughs and walks past. The Princess tries to tango with the Prime Minister but finds it too hard because she has to move backwards.

She runs outside and ducks into a bush, but her tutu is sticking out, and she gives herself away by saying, "She's not here." The Maid tries to convince the Princess that dancing is fun, but she still insists it isn't. She yells, prompting everyone to come over, and she lists everything she hates about dancing. Both fortunately and unfortunately, she illustrates her points with body language, which the King mistakes for dancing. This leads to an accidental dance craze, and the Princess decides that dancing isn't so bad after all.
