Go To

"Shush" is the fifty-ninth episodenote  of Lilo & Stitch: The Series. It first aired on August 26, 2005.

The experiment of the episode:

  • Shush (X-234): A red-furred weasel/mouse-like with big ears and a speaker on the end of his tail who is designed to eavesdrop on enemy conversations though what he listens to. Petting him on the head will cause him to stop eavesdropping and fold down his ears in contentment.

Tropes featured in this episode include:

  • An Aesop:
    • Eavesdropping on other people isn't polite.
    • Also, never jump to conclusions; get all the facts first.
  • Given Name Reveal: Through Shush, Lilo and Stitch learn that Mrs. Hasagawa's first name is Lynne.
  • Out-of-Context Eavesdropping: The episode's plot. Through Shush, Lilo hears Nani on the phone saying mean things about a guy, whom Lilo assumes to be David. Eventually Lilo confronts Nani, only to find out that she was talking with David about a movie they'd just seen. Later on, Lilo and Stitch hear Mertle talking with her mom about apparently getting rid of her friends: Yuki, Theresa, and Elena. When Lilo tells them this, they renounce their friendship with Mertle and hang out with Lilo and Stitch instead. Lilo later finds out that Mertle was actually getting rid of some of her dolls. At the end, Lilo tries to tell them, but Mertle already did, and they're still shocked that Lilo would make such an assumption.
