Recap / Legend Of The Three Caballeros S 1 E 05 No Man Is An Easter Island

Go To

Donald has a date with Daisy. Meanwhile Felldrake tries to unleash Lava Lizards onto the world.

  • Accidental Dance Craze: The Moai mistake Donald's angry emotes as a dance move. This ends up causing the "Eureka!" Moment that saves the day.
  • Adipose Rex: The Lava Lizard Queen is almost perfectly round, unlike her slender minions.
  • Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: The girls don't have a high opinion of Donald, but in this episode they comfort him after Daisy breaks up with him, and let him know that keeping his adventures a secret was selfless of him.
  • Convection, Schmonvection: Sheldgoose and the Caballeros get next to lava without any ill effect.
  • Fiery Salamander: The Lava Lizards are salamanders made up of lava. They solidify if they hit the water.
  • Gentle Giant: Despite being gigantic rock warriors, the Moai are pretty chill guys.
  • Giant Foot of Stomping: The Moai keep the Lava Lizard in check this way. Shown when the lizards try to talk to Sheldgoose and Felldrake, but keep getting stomped after every other word.
  • It's Not You, It's My Enemies: Xandra warns Donald not to tell Daisy that he's one of the Three Caballeros, since it would leave her in danger from Felldrake and his minions.
  • Kick the Dog: Daisy coldly breaks up with Donald in a letter, telling him to never contact her again, and leaving him with the check, making him enraged.
  • Like Is, Like, a Comma: The Lava Lizards speak, like, this way.
  • Living Statue: The Moai are the guardians of Easter Island. Their bodies are buried underground, keeping the Lava Lizards at bay.
  • Resistant to Magic: Nothing Felldrake tries with his magic does anything to the Moai. It leads to Sheldgoose utilising his skill in manipulation to do something about them.
  • Shockingly Expensive Bill: The bill for Donald's dinner unfolds down the table.
  • Shout-Out: Sheldgoose tricking the Moai into throwing a luau via hypnosis is one to Aladdin. Certainly helps that Felldrake's staff resembles Jafar's own staff (which he himself used to hypnotise the Sultan).
  • Taken for Granite: The Lava Lizard Queen sinks into the ocean and cools into a solid rock statue.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: The Moai might have to get back in the sand and never take another vacation, but Ari leaves them a radio so they can listen to music.
  • Totem Pole Trench: April, May and June do this to pose as a waiter at a fancy restaurant.
  • Two-Timer Date: An unwilling example from Donald, who keeps getting dragged away from his date with Daisy to battle Felldrake at Easter Island. Eventually, Daisy gets tired and leaves him again.
