Written By Michael S Chernuchin and Lawrence Kaplow

Directed By Martha Mitchell

A seemingly random young couple is assaulted in their home by a masked pizza delivery man, and detectives quickly realize they are dealing with a serial rapist when another couple is found with the exact MO attached to them. Eventually, the detectives discover a complicated and twisted revenge plot relating to the past history between one of the female victims and the rapist.

Tropes seen in this episode:

  • 555: While confessing to John Quinn's murder, Tony says he knows Carol's phone number was 555-0179 and that he left a voicemail asking her to prom and that she ignored the message and went to prom with John instead. She then reveals that number was never hers and another person received his message to her.
  • All for Nothing: What Tony's revenge against Carol ultimately turns out to be, thanks to the below mentioned Wham Line.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: When Tony Kelly and Carol Solomon were in high school, he left her a voicemail asking her to prom. His voicemail was ignored, so ten years later, he raped her and murdered her fiancé.
  • Momma's Boy: Chris Carnasis still lives with his mother in Riverdale and the detectives exploit his love for his mother to acquire the name of the third rapist.
  • Not Good with Rejection: All three men feel scorned by their victims and decide to get back at the women they were obsessed with. Two of them went with revenge by proxy while Tony Kelly chose to personally go after the woman he was “rejected” by and killed her fiancé.
  • Revenge by Proxy: Chris Carnasis and Riley Porter's victims were women that the other was "rejected" by.
  • Stalker with a Crush: The rapists were all men that were romantically obsessed with their victims and followed them to their homes and workplaces. Tony Kelly gets a special mention as he reveals a large amount of info on Carol, which rightfully freaks her out. Played for drama when he gets to the phone number he left a voicemail on, which turns out to not be hers.
  • Wham Line: After Tony Kelly confesses to John Quinn’s murder and his motive for doing so, John's widow, Carol, drops a bombshell on him.
Carol: You bastard! I never got your voicemail... (voice breaking) because that was never my phone number. You called somebody else. You stupid, evil, BASTARD!
