Hairball works solo for once in an attempt to rule the Kingdom for a day by winning an annual rallye race—his first order of business would be to cut Lady's hair. Using the Comb Gnomes, cheating, and trickery, he gains a sizable lead and threatens to win the entire race.
With help from Silkymane and the Pixietails, Lady enters the race herself, defeats Hairball, and comes out ahead. Realizing that villagers Brian and Megan really wanted to win, and since she rules most of the time anyway, Lady asks Sweetcurl and Merrycurl the dragons to let the children win. Lady knows that they'll do a fine job ruling for a day.
