Sabotaged! Everyone must work together to stop Dr. Emilia as an epic Mega Mute battle shuts down a successful bash. Now’s the time for real heroes.

Tropes:

  • And the Adventure Continues: The last scene has Kipo, Wolf, and Benson five years older (and Dave and Mandu) riding off on their mega mutes where they will travel to new lands.
  • Awesome, but Impractical: While trying to fight Kipo as a mega-mute, Emelia initially keeps stumbling and tripping because she's had no time to acclimate to the massive increase in size and weight of being gigantic or the extra sensory input of having two heads.
  • Back for the Finale: According to the credits, Label and Zane come to Kipo’s aid riding Beak Beak, the same Mega Pigeon that used to prey on the Fitness Raccoons.
  • Behemoth Battle: Of the Mega Animal kind between Kipo and Dr. Emilia. And then other Mega Beasts join the fight.
  • Bittersweet Ending: Dr. Emilia is finally defeated and a prosperous era of peace between humans and mutes begins, but Scarlemagne ends up dying to save Kipo. While Lio and Song aren't able to find an antidote for the mutes that got "cured", even after the Time Skip.
  • Boyish Short Hair: After the Time Skip, Kipo has trimmed her hair for a short, punk rock look.
  • Call-Back: The epilogue shows Kipo wearing a leather jacket. Kipo has always wanted a leather jacket since the episode “Cactus Town”.
  • The Cavalry: Kipo’s friends (Dave, Benson, Lio, Song, Jamack, Amy, Label, Zane, Molly, and Hoag) come riding in on a few Mega Mutes to assist Kipo while she is getting beaten by Emilia.
  • Colossus Climb: Wolf uses Kipo to climb up on Mega Emilia’s face.
  • Crowd Panic: All the mutes start to run and panic for shelter when the embers of the cure-dosed fireworks fall to the ground. Most of them either hide under Mega Jaguar Kipo or a person holding an object or tablecloth.
  • Disney Villain Death: Subverted. It almost looks like Emilia is going to fall to her death after she falls off a ledge in the abandoned Science Burrow. However, Fun Gus uses his stretchy appendages to catch her mid-fall. Unfortunately for Emilia though, Fun Gus is eager to keep a new playmate with him… forever.
  • Dying as Yourself: Scarlemagne’s final wish is to be called Hugo.
  • Everybody Cries: The whole Oak family, plus Benson, Dave, and Mandu, all cry at Hugo's death.
  • Fate Worse than Death:
    • Emilia might be a horrible, irredeemable person, but not even she deserves to be trapped as a mindless mega-mute forever. Which is why Kipo still cures her.
    • And when it becomes pretty clear she is Beyond Redemption, she’s trapped in her old burrow with a Mute who wants someone to play with forever (Fun Gus).
  • Grand Finale: Of “Kipo And the Age Of Wonderbeasts”.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Greta changes sides and gives Wolf the cure, after the latter gives her a You Are Better Than You Think You Are speech.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: Hugo flies into the mega-mute Emilia's face in order to distract her from his little sister, and is sent flying off into some buildings as a result, sustaining fatal injuries.
  • Ignored Epiphany: Even though Song previously told Kipo that how Emilia killing her own brother in cold blood is proof that she's not worth redeeming, Kipo still cures Emilia and tries to redeem. This shows that Kipo will never accept that sometimes villains just won't change.
  • Ironic Echo: Jamack says “You need to do some soul-searching” to Dr. Emilia, before unleashing the Mega Bunny.
  • Ironic Hell: Emilia wanted humanity to leave their burrows and cleanse the surface of Mutes who she sees as nothing but animals. She's now trapped in her burrow forever with a Mute who sees her as nothing but a toy.
  • Last Episode Theme Reprise: How the finale ends. Also doubles as a Finale Credits What would be better to say goodbye to a burrow girl and her friends with a final reprise of the show's theme song? Now complete with lyrics!
  • Meaningful Appearance: Future!Kipo now wears a leather jacket with five embroidered symbols that represent herself and her friends note
  • Non-Malicious Monster: The Mute mind of Emilia's mega-mute form is terrified throughout the battle. As soon as Emilia completely loses herself, it flees back to her home burrow and cowers until Kipo gives Emilia the cure.
  • One-Winged Angel: Dr. Emilia uses a serum of Mute DNA, turning her into a two-headed walrus humanoid monster. But it slips into a Clipped-Wing Angel the more she start to lose her sense of self without an “anchor”.
  • Precious Puppies: Wolf’s Mega Corgi is revealed to have had puppies in the epilogue. They may be gargantuan, but they are no less adorable than regular puppies.
  • Punny Name: In the epilogue, Benson has opened his own restaurant called a Benstaurant.
  • Redemption Equals Death: Happens to Hugo, formerly Scarlemagne, as he uses a convertible to ram the monstrous Emilia to weaken and distract her, giving Kipo a chance to recover and overcome her. However Emilia bats him away and he crashes into the surrounding buildings. This causes critical injuries to Hugo's body, but he has one chance to see his sister Kipo and his adoptive parents before he succumbs to his injuries.
  • Redemption Rejection: Even after freeing her from the prison of her own making, Emilia still refuses to admit she was wrong. Refuses to change, and when Kipo stretches out her hand in friendship, Emilia tries to kill her with a shard of glass.
  • Sacrificial Lamb: The frightened Humming Bomber at the beginning of the episode tries to escape the P.R.A.H.M. party by flying away, only to get hit by cure embers and turned into a regular hummingbird. This is meant to establish how vulnerable the mutes are in this moment.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: After Emilia turns herself into a mega-mute, her remaining army look to one another and abandon the fight.
  • Shout-Out: The Behemoth Battle and the shots of Kipo and Dr. Emilia's Mental World resemble Attack on Titan.
  • Soundtrack Dissonance: The song that plays while Dr. Emilia is getting ready for Prahm is an early 60's sounding Doo Wop number note . The same song plays again during her Mega-Mute fight against Jaguar Kipo.
  • Take My Hand!: When Emilia falls off a ledge after getting bitten by Mandu, Kipo tries to reach Emilia’s hand by extending hers, but they are unable to latch onto each other and Emilia is caught by Fun Gus. For better or worse.
  • Talking to the Dead: Kipo is shown talking to a bronze monument dedicated to Hugo explaining what everyone has been up to recently.
  • Through Her Stomach: Wolf manages to get Greta to hand over the last cure dart and pull a Heel–Face Turn by promising that they'll make her all the pancakes she can eat.
  • Time Skip: The end of the episode skips ahead five years to show how humans and Mutes have formed a new society based on mutual respect and cooperation.
  • Title Drop: Kipo tells Emilia the age of the alliance between humans and Mutes would be an “Age Of Wonderbeasts”, notably the only time in the series that the word "wonderbeasts" is used.
  • "Where Are They Now?" Epilogue: At the end, we cut to five years later, showing how things have changed and what everyone has been up to since then.
    • Humans and Mutes are now living together peacefully and have begun to restore Las Vistas into a proper city.
    • Label and Zane have opened their own gym.
    • Benson and Troy are still together and own a popular restaurant.
    • Wolf's Mega Corgi had puppies, which she know trains.
    • Jamack is now a 'bus driver' using a Mega-Bunny as transport.
    • Dave is a guest science lecturer for the Newton Wolves, which is mostly just him speaking nonsense. Lio and Good Billions are in disbelief with what he says. Song, mostly jokingly, doesn’t rule out his theories though.
    • Mandu is now a full-sized Mute Boar.
    • Gerard appears briefly in his Goth makeup, implying the rest of Scarlemagne’s primate nobles have gone back to their old customs.
    • Greta opens a salon that caters to treating nails and talons.
    • Yumyan and Bad Billions, and presumably the other “cured” mutes, still haven’t had their sapience restored.
  • Wily Walrus: Dr. Emilia uses the DNA from the mega-walrus to mutate herself into half-human, half-walrus monstrosity.
  • You Are Better Than You Think You Are: Wolf assures Greta she is not as dumb as she thinks or as Dr. Emilia says. Greta in turn has a Heel–Face Turn.
