Old frenemies are on the comeback. Kipo reaches out to alliance stopper Scarlemagne, and Margot asks Wolf for a favor. Are second chances possible?

Tropes:

  • And Your Reward Is Edible: A variant where someone is given something they WANT to eat. In the beginning of this episode, Scarlemagne complains about having to eat leftover Mega Crab meat again and wishes for some fruit instead. After he starts showing some improvement in his behavior and gives a genuine apology to the mutes, he is shown eating an apple as a reward.
  • Big Sister Instinct: While respecting Wolf's wish to be the one to fight Margot, Kipo assures her she will be there for her if she needs help.
  • Call-Back: Benson still hates chasing after Wolf.
  • Continuity Nod: Scarlemagne is annoyed at having to eat crab meat again after everyone feasted on the dead crab in “Everything is Crabs”.
  • Death Glare: Benson and Dave spend a long time staring at Margot so she won’t do anything to Wolf. Dave even refuses to blink so he can keep his eyes on her.
  • Easily Forgiven: Fully averted, and not without understandable reasons:
    • Everyone thinks Scarlemagne is Beyond Redemption after he tried to kill them all with molten gold. Even when he does apologize to them, they are not ready to forgive him yet. However, they do respect Kipo for the effort she put into getting him to own up to what he did and try to become a better person.
    • Last time Margot and Wolf saw each other, the former betrayed and almost killed the latter. So of course when they meet each other again 5 years later, Wolf's first instinct is to attack Margot. No matter what Margot does to be on Wolf’s good side, the main quartet berate her constantly.
  • Forced into Evil: Margot and her brother Rupert were forced by Dr. Emilia to lead Kipo's friends to her or else they would be turned into regular animals. Her face and the tone of her voice imply that she didn't want to do it.
  • High-Altitude Battle: When Margot and Wolf are fighting in the upper canopies of the forest, they fall on the back of a large mute bird and continue fighting on it when it reaches the sky. Wolf manages to push herself and Margot off the bird though.
  • Heartfelt Apology: Scarlemagne gives a sincere apology to the mutes he almost gotten killed.
  • Instant Sedation: In the beginning of the episode, Dr. Emilia captures Margot’s brother by shooting a tranquilizer dart that instantly knocks him out.
  • Land Mine Goes "Click!": While Margot doesn’t step on a mine, she steps on a squeaky dog toy that is at risk of alerting the Mega Dogs.
  • Literal-Minded: Benson and Dave think Margot will literally try to stab Wolf in the back.
  • My God, You Are Serious!: Everyone's reaction to Kipo for thinking that Scarlemagne regrets his actions. Even Scarlemagne himself does this.
  • No Time to Explain: While walking through the Mega Dog valley, Dave worries about getting squished. Wolf then reminds him that at least he could survive due to being an immortal bug. Margot is taken back by this, but Wolf says this trope verbatim so they could just focus on stopping the giant dogs.
  • Open the Iris: Yumyan's pupils dilate when Kipo decides to free Scarlemagme from his cage. Truth in Television as cats do this when they are tense and/or excited.
  • Properly Paranoid: Wolf, Benson, and Dave are very wary about Margot for what she did to Wolf in the past, thinking she would backstab her again. They’re right.
  • Running Gag: During the montage of Kipo trying to teach Scarlamagne how to be nice, the latter keeps smashing objects and running off, only to be stopped by Kipo's Mega Jaguar form.
  • So Much for Stealth: When Margot and Rupert try to sneak away from Emilia, Zane, and Greta at the beginning of the episode, Rupert moves too quickly, which makes a sound that draws the humans closer to them.
  • Stupidest Thing I've Ever Heard: The other Mutes laugh at Kipo's belief that Scarlemagne is really sorry for everything he's done, and that they should accept his apology.
    "Oh, you're serious."
  • That Came Out Wrong: Played for laughs. Scarlemage tries to recite a poem, which the other Mutes think he's calling them "dumb trees".
