Recap / King Of The Hill S 12 E 21 It Came Fromthe Garage

Go To

Hank and Bobby work on a boat. Meanwhile, Peggy starts to educate herself from clearance books.

  • Acquired Situational Narcissism: Realizing his father is scared of bats gives Bobby a major ego boost, resulting in him basically taking over building the boat since Hank refuses to go in the garage.
  • Covert Pervert: Peggy is shown to be a fan of the erotic novel she finds at the bookstore, and looks around carefully before reading it.
  • Surprisingly Realistic Outcome:
    • Despite the confidence boost he gets from realizing his father isn't perfect, Bobby doesn't know anything about building boats and prioritizes making the boat look cool instead of making it seaworthy. The moment he takes it on the river, it starts sinking.
    • The ending indicates that sailing the boat under the bridge where hundreds of bats live didn't really cure Hank's fear of them. In real life, dealing with a phobia is a little more complicated than simply facing it once.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: Hank apparently has a fear of bats, which wasn't shown until this episode.
