Recap / King Of The Hill S 10 E 10 Hank Fixes Everything

Go To

After a disastrous brawl at a propane expo (Caused by the guys from American Chopper), Hank tries to end a price war between all the competing propane dealerships which is quickly driving them to bankruptcy. But his efforts work too well, resulting in a price fixing conspiracy that could land him and Buck in jail.

  • The Dog Bites Back: Joe Jack uses the brawl at the propane expo as an opportunity to sucker punch Buck for firing him just to save money from the price war.
  • Gone Horribly Right: Hank successfully ends the price war...because all 4 owners go in on an illegal price fixing conspiracy.
  • Hidden Wire: Hank is forced to wear one to expose the price fixing and not wanting to get everyone involved jailed, he first tries to alert the owners with a paper note that says that they're being recorded, but none of them notice it. Conveniently enough, the American Chopper guys show up shortly afterwards with their noisy choppers to apologize for the brawl they caused earlier, and Hank asks them to rev up their choppers to drown out the wire so that he can warn the owners in person while they're showing off their briefcases full of money to each other.
  • Not So Above It All: After Buck Strickland along with the fellow propane owners prepare to take a day off from work by closing early, Enrique cheerfully asks who wants to go to the water park. Joe Jack and Donna raised their hands along with the customer and even Hank.
  • Poor Communication Kills:
    • Hank never thinks to explain to the commissioner that he was merely trying to stop a price war that was bleeding their businesses dry.
    • The owners, either because of this, or just not caring, take Hank's advice of working together to mean they should run a price fixing operation.
  • Remember the New Guy?: Pine Creek Propane and AA1 Propane, two competing propane dealerships, are never mentioned before this episode or after it. Though Buck Strickland did have "acquaintance" with AA1 owner's wife before.
