When Ron's boss Mr. Smarty makes him the mentor of his son Artie, Ron struggles to impress the rebellious teenager. At the same time, Drakken attempts to use the Ultimate Remote Control to seize command of Smarty Mart's new Stockbots, while inadvertently becoming a mentor to his recently-paroled former cellmate, Frugal Lucre.
This episode provides examples of:
- Bratty Half-Pint: Artie Smarty.
- Call-Back: This episode makes reference to when Lucre worked at Smarty-Mart. He still gets newsletters from it.
- Chekhov's Gun: Martin Smarty's tube system that delivers his message to Ron becomes a crucial plot element.
- Easily Forgiven: Martin Smarty doesn't hold much of a grudge against Shego for kidnapping him so long as she pretends to be romantically interested in him.
- Handy Remote Control: The Ultimate Remote Control can control any device in the world.
- Hammerspace: Rufus pulls a crowbar out of Ron's pocket.
- Kissing Discretion Shot: Kim and Ron have one. It cuts to Rufus sticking his tongue out and running off-screen.
- Non-Protagonist Resolver: After everyone else is captured, it's Artie who stops Drakken, though he only did it to save the otters.
- Oh, Crap!: Shego's reaction when Drakken and Lucre start bonding.
- Out-of-Character Moment: Rufus usually finds moments between Kim and Ron cute. Towards the end of the episode, however, he is grossed out by their kiss and runs off.
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here:
- Shego gets exasperated enough to just walk out when the plan starts to go south.
- She also does this when she discovers marrying Martin Smarty would also mean becoming a stepmom to Artie.
- Shout-Out: A couple of sci-fi films get an homage. Barken refers to the robot uprising as "rise of the machines", and Smarty says that his son is "more rebel than boy now".
- Show Some Leg: Shego distracts Martin Smarty while Drakken and Lucre hack into his computer.
- Sue Donym: A variation — after telling Martin Smarty "Whoa, back off!" when he asks her name while blatantly hitting on her, Shego goes along with his misunderstanding that her name is "Wobakoff".
- Turned Against Their Masters: Barkin was against Smarty-Mart having robots due to being aware of movies where robots take over humanity, and usually eating their brains. When Drakken causes them to go berserk, he feels his fears were confirmed.
- Wig, Dress, Accent: Shego uses the first two, but doesn't bother disguising her voice.
