Even with Kuroto Dan's sudden disappearance and reveal as an ally for the Bugsters, Emu tries to figure out why Shuuhei seems to dislike Christmas and cakes.

- Christmas Episode: It's even celebrated with Ex-Aid and Brave fighting to a remix of Jingle Bells sung by Poppy.
- Twisted Christmas: It's also the episode in which Kiriya meets his demise.
- Downer Ending: Kiriya's death on a Christmas episode is considered to be a depressing end to one unlike past Christmas episodes.
- Gray Rain of Depression: It is raining when Kiriya dies.
- Lethal Joke Item: The Christmas power up. It decks the Riders out in Christmas outfits and changes Brave's Level 3 song to a Christmas themed one, but also powers them up to the point Ex-Aid Level 1 is strong enough to manhandle Salty Level 3.
- Mood Whiplash: The first half of this is a hilarious Christmas Episode, topped off with asskicking to the tune of Jingle Bells, or at least Poppy singing the syllables in her own name to the tune of Jingle Bells. The second half... isn't.
- Wham Episode:
- Genm Level X debuts and easily killed Kiriya.
- Kuroto Dan apparently did something to land his dad in jail so he can take his position and he was also involved with Emu's lifesaving operation 16 years ago.
- Poppy is a Bugster. A friendly Bugster, but a Bugster nonetheless.
