Go To

Written by Nobuhiro Mouri
Directed by Osamu Kaneda

There is no rest for the wicked, as despite the Roidmude's extinction and Banno's plan being foiled, peace has yet to return. The cause - the terrorist organization Neo-Shade, the same one Shinnosuke and Hayase were investigating a year ago just before the Global Freeze, has resurfaced. On the crime scene of their latest devilish plot Tomari finds a strange, eyeball-like object, which more than likely connected to their plans. The item, known as a Ghost Eyecon, soon gets stolen from the MPD by one of Neo-Shade agents. When Shinnosuke catches up to him, he is assaulted by an invisible foe. Before things turned deadly for him, he was saved by another invisible combatant - one he was already familiar with...

  • As Long as There Is Evil: Inverted example, in a way. Shinnosuke KNOWS that just because the Roidmudes are defeated doesn't mean the world is at peace, since their evil only came from their human creator either way. Thus, he declares that even then, he'll keep moving forward to defend the world from it.
  • Back for the Finale: Neo-Shade, which was mentioned waaaaay back in episode 0, comes back and takes center stage as the main antagonist for the final episode.
  • Blasting It Out of Their Hands: Shinnosuke manages to disarm some Neo-Shade agents this way. Does it again for the Neo-Shade leader as soon as his gun's line of fire was no longer aimed at Kiriko.
  • Book Ends: In the very first episode, Shinnosuke tries to save his partner Hayase during a fight with some Neo-Shade goons, but the Global Freeze caused him to miss his shot and heavily injure Hayase. Now, he must again make a tricky shot when a Neo-Shade agent takes Kiriko hostage. The showdown even takes place at the exact same location.
  • Brought Down to Badass: The episode focuses on Shinnosuke getting past the fact that he isn't as powerful as he was as Drive, but he still has more than enough in him to be a bad-ass detective.
  • Continuity Snarl: Concerning Ghost, Drive ends with Shinnosuke being promoted on October 1 (2015), but the premiere of Ghost will establish that Takeru Tenkuji only became Ghost on October 4.
  • Crossover Finale: With the next series in the line, Kamen Rider Ghost. And unlike many other crossovers, it's actually canon to BOTH series.
  • Evil Power Vacuum: Turns out that just because a worse evil showed up, the evil terrorist organization didn't just evaporate into thin-air. Neo-Shade still exists and is still dangerous now that the Roidmudes and Banno have been defeated. Albeit with some man-power issues.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: Near the end of the episode, Yurusen is seen holding the Robin Eyecon instead of the Newton Eyecon. It is switched back, but is noticeable with a good eye.
  • Immune to Bullets: Similar to the Phantoms, bullets are useless against the Ganma, only with the Ganma, the bullets pass right through them harmlessly. The Ganma even mocks Shinnosuke for expecting it to actually work.
  • Never Trust a Trailer: The previews for this episode indicated the return of Chase. Alas, it was but a flashback.
  • Resolved Noodle Incident: The flashback shows the fates of Roidmudes 012 and 055, who were established as having been terminated in #43.
  • "Where Are They Now?" Epilogue: After being exempted the previous episode, Shinnosuke and Kiriko got theirs this time after dealing with their personal demons at the end of the episode following Shinnosuke's promotion.
    • Kiriko Shijima: Transferred to First Division as an investigator. She goes on to marry Tomari Shinnosuke and eventually gives birth to their oldest son, Eiji.
    • Shinnosuke Tomari: Transferred to First Division's Major Crime Unit, and later promoted to their chief investigator. Like his father, Eisuke Tomari, he has a fulfilling career as the department's top detective.
