Jolyne arrives at Green Dolphin Street Prison, where she receives orientation by a diminutive man named Loccobarocco and his hand puppet Charlotte. She is placed in a cell with fellow inmate Gwess, who displays extreme mood swings and possesses Jolyne's pendant. The following morning, Jolyne uses her power to overhear Gwess talking to what seems to be an ordinary bird. Stealing the bird, she horrifyingly discovers that the "bird" is actually a hollowed out bird corpse filled with miniature human body parts. Gwess confronts Jolyne and reveals that she has developed a similar power which she names "Goo Goo Dolls" ("Cry Cry Dolls" in English); she can shrink people, which she used on a guard to force him to become her slave before killing him. Gwess shrinks Jolyne, forces her to wear a rat corpse as a disguise, and tasks her with sneaking into the prison's control center to release the prisoners so they can escape. Jolyne makes her way towards the control center, but discovers that distance from Gwess weakens her powers and is forced to retreat. Goo Goo Dolls attacks her, and Jolyne's powers manifest into a physical form which she uses to drive it off. Jolyne forces Gwess to reveal that she bought the pendant from Ermes, but Gwess uses Goo Goo Dolls to throw Jolyne into a restricted area to get her killed. Jolyne names her power "Stone Free" ("Stone Ocean" in English) and severely beats Gwess, forcing her to help her escape and return the pendant.
