Couch Gag - Speed Buggy

Sweet Dreams

  • An Arm and a Leg: Being a robot, Kitty Jo's arm falls off during Huck's story.
  • Art Shift: Doggie Daddy's princess story to Augie is drawn in a crude crayon style.
  • Black Comedy Burst: Kabong's story appears to be the same as Batman's, in which his parents were murdered after exiting a movie theater. He thought this story was appropriate to tell Augie as a bedtime story.
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: "That story was too random. I don't understand why it belongs in this cartoon."
  • The Cameo: Moltar is shown on a cookbook.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: Captain Caveman threatens to "dewey decimate" Benny if he doesn't return his overdue book.
  • Drop-In Character: Parodied. Yogi, Cindy, and Boo-Boo suddenly burst out of Augie's closet like they're in a sitcom, complete with a Laugh Track.
  • Fishing for Sole: Mildew's story shows that he end up fishing a boot.
  • Insert Song: In the middle of the episode, there's an 80s-esque song about the characters trying to tell bedtime stories.
  • Last Episode Theme Reprise: The final episode of the season (the first production season but the second broadcast season) ends with an extended reprise of the show's opening theme.
  • Loony Librarian: In Captain Caveman's story, he is volunteering at the library, where he sorts books by flavor and texture.
  • Mourning an Object: Yogi, Cindy, and Boo-Boo hold a funeral for their sandwich.
  • Mr. Exposition: Huckleberry's bedtime story is just him explaining the town and the show's premise.
  • Noodle Incident: Huckleberry makes reference to Lake Jellystone no longer being an ecological disaster as of 2019, and instructs visitors to ignore a sign that states "Do not enter by order of the government.".
  • Or My Name Isn't...: Captain Caveman swears he will find the book Wally wants, or his name isn't Captain Caveman.
  • Real After All: The bagel monster from Augie's dream turns out to be real at the end of the episode.
  • Rouge Angles of Satin: Jellystone's welcome sign reads "Home of the Spalling Bee Champs".
  • Serious Business: As shown in Yogi's bedtime story, the contents of a sandwich are quite important. If there are pickled beets in there, it's automatically tainted.
  • Spoof Aesop: Two in Captain Caveman's story - "Always use a fake ID when checking out a book" and "Dreams do come true" — the latter of which doesn't have anything to do with the story.
  • Stock "Yuck!": Pickled beets are portrayed as ruining sandwiches.
  • Talking in Your Sleep: When Augie has a bad dream, she mumbles "No. Bad bagel, bad bagel."
  • Things That Go "Bump" in the Night: Augie thinks there's a monster under the bed, but it was just her toy Woggly Womp.
  • Vignette Episode: The episode is a compilation of the different bedtime stories the citizens tell to Augie.
  • We Don't Suck Anymore: Huck claims that Lake Jellystone is no longer an ecological disaster as of 2019, two years before the episode was produced.
