Ryan and Min finally meet Kez's roommate.

Tropes:

  • Armor-Piercing Response: According to Kez, Jeremy apparently wasn't really listening to her when she tries to console him that the deaths of his sister and mother weren't his fault. As such, she told him something that got his number down to zero: "Even though you live here, you never really left that fog."
  • Bait-and-Switch: After hearing how Morgan blames Kez for what happened to Jeremy, Ryan and Min briefly believe she did something that accidentally killed Jeremy. Instead, it is revealed that when she comforted him over the death of his family, she got his number down to 0 and his exit appeared. He apparently tried to look through it without going through, but it sucked him up.
  • Despair Event Horizon: Ryan crosses it after the Steward appears and then explodes, which causes their numbers to cycle without changing.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: A few of the pages Min-Gi doesn't read are briefly visible, mostly observations made by Jeremy about Morgan and Kez.
  • Genius Loci: Morgan is the entire castle.
  • Irony: When Jeremy first met Kez and Morgan, he was going through issues of blaming himself for his family's deaths, and a lack of closure that resulted from it. Once he overcame his issues and exited the train, he unwittingly left Kez blaming herself for his leaving, and Morgan without closure.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Kez explains how she accidentally got Jeremy's number down to 0 when she comforted him over the death of his family, resulting in him getting his door and leaving the Train, and by extension Morgan. She acts like it was a mistake because it cost Morgan her closest friend, even though passengers are supposed to get their numbers to 0.
  • The Reveal:
    • The man in the photo is Jeremy. Kez took him from Morgan and brought Ryan and Min-Gi as replacements.
    • Jeremy went home after Kez convinced him that the deaths of his mom and sister in a car crash wasn't his fault.
  • Wham Episode: Amelia just took over the Train.
  • Wham Line: The Steward appears once more... and speaks with Amelia's voice, telling everyone that they're on their own.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Ryan and Min-Gi are both upset at Kez for lying to them on why she brought them to meet Morgan. This culminates in Ryan giving her a "The Reason You Suck" Speech on how she never considers her actions or consequences and then leaves the problems she causes unresolved without even apologizing for them.
