Recap / Pour Some Sugar, Zombie

Go To

Liv eats the brain of a stripper at the request of Peyton, who wants more information on Mr. Boss's operations. Blaine loses his memory as a result of the new cure, and Ravi learns the truth about Major.

  • Amnesiac Dissonance: Learning about his past as a zombie criminal confuses and disturbs Blaine.
  • Hypocritical Humor: Johnny Frost takes about half a second to go from talking about the special connection he had with Cassidy to excusing himself to spend time with another stripper.
  • Internal Reveal:
    • Ravi finds the Chaos Killer's equipment in Major's closet.
    • Drake's mother tells Liv that he was undercover.
  • Literal Metaphor: Destiny is calling Johnny Frost. She's a stripper.
  • Never the Obvious Suspect: Nick not only has a very clear motive for murdering Cassidy, he's wearing a GPS ankle bracelet which puts him at the crime scene at the time of the murder. He's innocent; he was passed out drunk in the back seat while it happened.
  • The Password Is Always "Swordfish": Major uses his football numbers as a safe combination.
  • Porn Names: It's not explicit, but most of the strippers have the kind of name that's a lot more likely to be a pseudonym. The two who are plot-relevant are named Destiny and Lorelei; there's also a minor background character named Helvetica.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: The stripper brain makes Liv bitchy and explosive.

  • Shout-Out: The title is a reference to Def Leppard's song "Pour Some Sugar On Me"
  • Spotting the Thread: Ravi gets suspicious of Major upon recognizing Minor as the dog belonging to one of the Chaos Killer's victims.
  • Visual Pun: The food porn of Liv preparing this week's brain is a BLT: Brain, Lettuce, and Tomato sandwich.
  • Wham Line: "That's him graduating from the police academy. I never wanted him to go undercover, but he insisted."- Drake's mother
  • Wham Shot: Major turns around and his eyes go into full-on zombie mode, before he falls to the ground because Ravi knocked him out. The wham being that Major has turned back into a zombie. Also, literally, he got whammed.
