Short Summary
The election for the new Chairman for the Hunter Association after the death of Netero has begun. At the same time, Killua returns home for his captive sibling who is the only one who can save a comatose Gon after his fight with Neferpitou.
This Arc Contains Examples Of:
- Breaking the Fellowship: Gon and Killua go their separate ways once the former made a recovery, the latter seeing Gon off as he is prepared to meet his father.
- Election Day Episode: More like arc than episode. This arc focuses on the election to chose another Chairman after Chairman Netero's death in the previous arc.
- The Friend Nobody Likes: Ging to the vast majority of the Hunter Association despite his skills, both for being a colossal pain in the ass and for abandoning Gon at a young age.
Story Impact
- After a series of elections, Pariston Hill wins but names Cheadle Yorkshire the new chairman to her annoyance that he wasted everyone's time for his own whim He then leaves the Zodiacs to explore the Dark Continent.
- Killua manages to heal Gon with help from Alluka and Nanika, parting ways with Gon to see the world with his sibling and the entity within while also keeping them away from their family.
- Gon finally meets his father and has a heart-to-heart before the two go their separate ways with Gon returning to Whale Island to figure out what to do next in life. Ging also stepped down from the Zodiacs to explore the Dark Continent.
