Recap / Horseland S 1 E 4 Cry Wolf

Go To

Theme: It's hard to trust a liar even when they tell the truth.
Character focus: Alma

Alma's fibs to get Zoey to do her chores for her are tested when she gets trapped by a wolf while proving its evidence.

This episode provides examples of:

  • Cassandra Truth: The Stiltons wrongfully assume Alma was lying about seeing a wasp. Later on, the others find it hard to believe she genuinely mistook a harmless plant for poison ivy even after Will explains it's easy to mistake that specific plant for the poisonous one.
  • Crying Wolf: As evidenced by the title. Alma isn't believed when he sees a wolf because of the lies she had previously told in the episode.
  • Did Not Think This Through: Out of desperation to prove she did see a wolf, Alma returns to the place where she saw it so she can take pictures of its pawprints. It doesn't occur to her that she might run afoul of the wolf again.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Will has seen enough wasps that day to give Alma the benefit of the doubt when she sees a wasp nobody else saw.
