The Cameo: In #7, while Yumeria and Mitsuki reenact a scene from Z-Cune Aoi, a patron in the cafe mouths the words to the scene. This patron is none other than KeiichiSato who did the designs for Z-Cune Aoi!
Cosplay: Aside from Yumeria, Mitsuki cosplays as Aoi in this episode.
Doujinshi: Yumeria’s knack for this becomes a Chekhov's Skill in #7 when she draws the Akibarangers and Malshina for Hiroyo so she can see them.
Elite Mook: Averted. Turns out the Mook is actually a symbiotic host to the Monster of the Week, who's really a spider about ten inches long.
Eye Catch: As befitting the Wham Arc, the eyecatch is taken over by Malshina and the Mooks.
Make My Monster Grow: Finally played straight when the Chief Clerk turns into a giant spider monster. Though not nearly as big as the normal instance of this trope, being closer to the One-Winged Angel transformations seen in Kamen Rider.
Mythology Gag: The Akibarangers "combine their powers" in Machine Itasha and enter a yellow-on-black grid world to chase down—then fight—the MOTW. This place resembles the "vector dimension" several past robos entered either when forming, or performing a Finishing Move.
