Mime makes macabre mistakes throughout the episode.

Mime tries out a series of jobs to pay for a new unicycle.
- Artistic License – Explosives: Toothy is seen using a gunpowder-based cannon to fire Cuddles out of. Real circus performers never do this. That's what spring-based cannons are for - gunpowder is simply meant to simulate the sound of an actual cannon firing.
- Downer Ending: Mime is unable to hold a single job, getting several of the Tree Friends killed in the process. And by the time he does obtain the money he needs for the unicycle, it's already been bought by Cro-Marmot.
- Eaten Alive: The ducks devour Lumpy alive due to him being spilled blood all over, and they later leave Giggles' body a freaking mess, also devouring the other Tree Friends who didn't manage to escape from the circus in time.
- Foul Waterfowl: The killer ducks, to a dangerous degree.
- Idiot Houdini: Mime is the cause of many deaths and suffers no consequence for it.note Unless you count the unicycle he really wanted being bought by Cro-Marmot.
- New Job as the Plot Demands: Lumpy, Cuddles, Toothy, Flaky, and eventually Mime are all circus performers.
- New Job Episode: Mime's jobs include: Drive-thru employee, lifeguard, window washer, and an animal cleaner.
- Not So Above It All: Mime robs Lumpy's dead corpse for his money. This might be justified considering how Lumpy was in the episode though.
- Repulsive Ringmaster: Lumpy, who refuses to pay Mime and brutally whips the circus animals.
- Seen It All: Lumpy is not impressed by any of Mime's circus tricks.
- "Shaggy Dog" Story: Turns out that Mime's highly sought out unicycle was already bought by none other than Cro-Marmot by the end of the episode.
- Temporarily a Villain: Lumpy plays as the greedy, villianous, circus owner that Mime works at.
- They Killed Kenny Again: Cuddles, Lumpy, Giggles, The Mole, Toothy, Flaky, Russell, Nutty, Pop, Cub, Sniffles, and Disco Bear die.
- Throw the Dog a Bone: Cro-Marmot, Petunia, and Mime survive.
- Toothy Bird: The ducks in the circus have sharp fangs.
- Wallet Moths: A moth flies out of Mime's pockets when he checks for money.
- Wingding Eyes: Mime sports these after getting Lumpy's money.
