"Let It Slide" is the nineteenth episode of the second (internet) season of Happy Tree Friends.
At a water park, Cuddles, Flaky, and Lumpy are standing atop a water slide. Lumpy slides down first, popping out one of the bolts on a part of the slide in the process. He ends up unknowingly slicing an unattended Cub in half. He also ends up losing his swimwear, freaking Giggles out when he exits the pool. In panic, he grabs a nearby towel hanging on a valve to cover himself, causing the valve to rotate and turn off the water at the slide. A nervous Flaky is next but is unsure about going down the slide. Cuddles begins to pester her to slide down, but despite her refusing, she ends up being pushed into the now dry slide by the bunny. Her quills begin poking out the slide as she is flayed on the way down. The rest of the bolts finally pop out, causing a section of the slide to lower itself. The bloody Flaky reaches the water, where her body sinks, leaving what is left of her skin to float up. Lumpy soon realizes his mistake and turns the water back on. Cuddles takes his turn, and he enjoys the slide until his body is sliced in half by the lowered section of the slide. Lumpy now uses Flaky's skin to replace the towel, not knowing that it does not even cover his lower half, causing Giggles to scream yet again.
"Let It Slide" contains examples of:
- Ambidextrous Sprite: Cub's safety pin and Lumpy's antlers.
- Amusement Park of Doom: With the No OSHA Compliance and lack of lifeguards or anyone to watch over the park and its patrons, this trope pretty much sums up the water park in this episode.
- Blood Is Squicker in Water: Applies only during Cub's death, though.
- Captain Obvious: The BlurB!.Fun Fact: A water slide without water is sometimes called "a slide"
- Caption Humor: One of the episodes with a BlurB! version.
- Cruel and Unusual Death:
- Cub gets sliced in half by Lumpy's antler.
- Flaky ends up flayed when she goes down the slide.
- Cuddles gets cut in half due to the broken slide.
- Exact Words: The episode's official description points out both that faulty equipment can ruin anyone's day and that the water is fine to swim in. In the context of this episode, both are correct. The main hazard comes from the water slide (and anyone using it, like Lumpy), while the pool indeed does not have any hazards in it.
- Flayed Alive: Flaky's death.
- Half the Man He Used to Be: Cub and Cuddles's fate. The former horizontally, the latter vertically.
- Hand-or-Object Underwear: When Lumpy realises that he lost his swimsuit, he covers up his privates with his hand while looking around for a more permanent solution.
- Naked People Are Funny: Once again, poor Giggles ends up catching a sight of a naked Lumpy.
- No OSHA Compliance: A glance of the water slide at the beginning of the episode has one of the slides not leading to the pool. Also, the person managing the water park really needs to consider making the slides stable enough to handle pretty much anyone using them. The park's weird design is Lampshaded in the BlurB!.
