Lumpy seems to have gone a little off course.

While trying to find the frigid mountains, Lumpy finds himself lost in a sweltering desert and must do whatever he can to survive.
"Just Desert" contains examples of:
- Behind the Black: At the end of the episode, it's revealed that Lumpy was actually right by a beach when he died, unbeknownst to both him and the audience.
- Caption Humor: This is one of the episodes with a Blurb version.
- Censor Box: Played for laughs in the Blurb version of the episode. After Lumpy takes off all of his winter clothing to cool down, there is a caption placed over his lower body that reads "Blurb placed for your protection!". Of course, the normal version of the episode has the "naked" Lumpy fully exposed without anything inappropriate shown.
- Circling Vultures: After he realizes that the oasis was a mirage, vultures swoop down and eat Lumpy alive. Miraculously, he survives this.
- Desert Skull: What Lumpy is reduced to when Cub finds him.
- Downer Ending: Not only does Lumpy die before he could find civilization, it turns out that he was only a few feet away from help.
- Hollywood Mirage: Lumpy comes across a fake oasis while desperate for water.
- No Sense of Direction: Despite having a map to the mountains, Lumpy somehow ends up in the desert.
- The Reveal: The ending (admittedly nonsensically) reveals that Lumpy was at a beach the whole time.
- Staggered Zoom: As the thirsty Lumpy is wandering through the desert, there's a staggered zoom out to emphasise just how vast it is.
- Stripped to the Bone: Lumpy is finished off by a tornado reducing him to bones.
- Take a Moment to Catch Your Death: Lumpy manages to pull himself away from the vultures that were trying to eat him alive, prompting a Cathartic Exhalation. Then the one vulture still riding on his back flies away, and the tornado that shredded Lumpy's antlers earlier comes back for seconds, stripping him to the bone.
- They Killed Kenny Again: Lumpy dies.
- Thirsty Desert: Tornadoes, vultures, and a lack of water makes Lumpy's adventure hell.
- Throw the Dog a Bone: Cub and Pop survive.
- The Tooth Hurts: Lumpy tries to brush his teeth in water, but it turns to be a mirage, so he painfully brushes them with sand. His bleeding gums and teeth aren't a pretty sight.
- Who Needs Their Whole Body?: Even after having his entire lower body eaten by vultures, Lumpy is barely able to pull himself forward until a passing tornado finishes him off.
