Go To

Synopsis:

“At the Morag Temple, Gamora finds Nebula there and brings her along in atoning for the damages she has caused to other planets by giving them units which would also have them chased by its inhabitants. Unfortunately for them, Yondu and Kraglin lead the Ravagers into raiding the same planets in order to steal the units given to them. Now Gamora and Nebula must work together to reclaim each of the units and defeat the Ravagers.”

Tropes featured in the episode:

  • A Day in the Limelight: This is the first episode to feature purely on Gamora, indeed none of the other Guardians appear at all.
  • Aesop Amnesia: Subverted. Gamora is well aware that not everyone will forgive her or Nebula for what they did while under Thanos or Ronan's thrall. That doesn't stop her from trying even though her sister makes things worse. At first.
  • Chained Heat: How Nebula is forced to accompany Gamora on her quest.
  • Easily Forgiven: A village of bird-like aliens aren't as hostile to Gamora and Nebula like the others, and even invite them for a feast. Gamora accepts and stops her sister from making things worse.
  • Hard Truth Aesop: You can help and advise people to better themselves and seek a better life, but only they can choose to accept doing the right thing.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Nebula is starting to show signs of this as at the end, she makes the Ravagers take the stolen units back to the people Gamora had given them to - once she takes her own share, of course.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Yondu and the Ravagers catch wind of Gamora giving out units to worlds she and Nebula attacked in the past. They wait until the duo leaves so the Ravagers can take them. They are shocked when they arrive at a village the two end up staying for a feast.
  • No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: Gamora giving up her units to help her former victims restore their lives lead to the Ravagers following to rob or swindle the same people. This doesn't last though.
  • Redemption Quest: Gamora has been going through this for a while. She's hopes she can do the same for Nebula, though Nebula believes that Gamora is still dealing with the guilt of abducting her to Thanos.
  • Reformed, but Rejected: After what she did to them years ago, the victims of Gamora’s past crimes are not exactly pleased to see her and do not originally believe she has changed.
  • The Reveal: Nebula points out that Gamora abducted her years ago.
