Who ya gonna call?

And glory like the phoenix midst her fires, Exhales her odours, blazes, and expires.

When an arson case looks to have Wesen origins, Nick finds himself reluctantly having to ask an old foe for help.

Elsewhere, Viktor teaches Adalind the effectiveness of well-played diplomacy.

Meanwhile, Juliette finds herself in a confrontation sooner than expected.

This episode provides examples of:

  • The Bus Came Back: Peter Orson, the incarcerated Bauerschwin arson investigator, comes back for the first time since "The Three Bad Wolves".
  • Cliffhanger: The episode ends when Juliette plays The Reveal on Nick.
  • Cruel and Unusual Death: The Excandesco's victims are burned alive.
  • Enemy Mine: Peter Orson is taken to help with the investigation, having been from arson. Especially prominent in his dealings with Monroe.
  • Hoist by Their Own Petard: After being doused with the ointment Orson and Rosalee concocted, the Excandesco's powers turn inwards, making him burn alive and explode.
  • Internal Reveal: First Adalind, then Nick learn that Juliette has transformed into a Hexenbiest.
  • Insane Troll Logic: Adalind tells Juliette she should be grateful to her for sleeping with Nick, because she gave them a nice, normal life by depowering him.
  • Let's Get Dangerous!: Juliette clearly relishes the chance to give Adalind a well-deserved thrashing when she turns up at the house intending to kidnap her to force Nick to give up the baby.
  • Mind over Matter: Juliette and Adalind get in a telekinetic smackdown when Adalind tries to kidnap Juliette. Adalind runs away when Juliette unleashes a barrage of kitchen knives.
  • Monster of the Week: An Excandesco arsonist.
  • "Not So Different" Remark: Rosalee brings up that Monroe's inability to let go of Orson's feud with him is not unlike the Wesenrein's Fantastic Racism. This allows Monroe to see past their mutual hatred and actually work with the group.
  • That One Case: Damien Barso the arsonist was apparently this for Orson, with this episode bringing him closure by letting him actually catch him, more or less.
  • The Reveal:
    • Sam, the investigator hired by Renard to find Kelly, also works for Viktor. Exactly which one he really works for is a reveal for another time.
    • Juliette reveals she is a Hexenbiest to Nick.
  • Sure, Let's Go with That: When Nick explains to Wu that the arsonist exploded after the gang doused him with an experimental "sunscreen," Wu suggests that maybe the guy had a bomb. Nick hastily agrees.
  • Wham Shot: When Adalind tries to overpower Juliette by telekinetically throwing a vase at her head, only for Juliette to casually catch it with her mind and throw it at Adalind instead.
