Adalind realises she's been tricked.
The Queen was terrified and offered the little man all the riches of the kingdom, if only he would leave the newborn child alone.
Captain Sean Renard promises to protect Adalind and her baby as the Verrat tracks them down. Nick and his mother Kelly team up, backed up by Monroe and Rosalee, to guard against the Royal attack.

- Oh, Crap!: Adalind goes to confront Kelly about her mother's murder, leaving the baby with Renard. They talk for a while, but then Kelly tells her about leaving Nick and how hard it was to let him grow up without her, but that sometimes it's necessary to make such sacrifices. Adalind realises she's been played and runs to find Renard, but too late: he's handed over the baby, and she's gone.
- Papa Wolf: Renard is willing to shoot Nick if he poses a threat to the baby.
- Really Gets Around: Discussed when Renard is revealed as the father of Adalind's baby.Hank: [Adalind] has a baby? You're kidding me.
Nick: Nope!
Hank: When did this happen? I mean, when did she give birth? I mean... how old is the baby?
Juliette: It's not yours.
Hank: Thank god. I mean... thank god. That's not a woman you wanna have a baby with.
(Kelly looks on, slightly amused)
Hank: Who's the idiot father?
Nick: The captain.
(Hank is surprised)
Kelly: Popular, this Adalind.
Juliette: That's one way to look at it. - Skyward Scream: Adalind falls to her knees in the street and every window nearby shatters with the force of her scream when she realises the baby is gone.
- Unspoken Plan Guarantee: The audience sees the plan to get the baby free of both Viktor and the Resistance so she can live a normal life unfold without setup. The plan involves Kelly's arrest for Catherine's murder, an apparent attempt to lure Viktor to an Abandoned Warehouse for an ambush, Renard seemingly handing the baby to Viktor under threat of death, and the gang stealing the baby back while posing as the Resistance. Finally, Adalind thinks the Royal family have the baby and Viktor thinks she's with the Resistance while Kelly drives away intending to raise her quietly herself.
