The Shack's resident Mr. Fixit, Soos, records himself fixing various things. The results are...mixed.

  • #1 The Golf Cart: Soos fixes and improves the Mystery Cart after Dipper and Wendy wrecked it doing "normal work stuff."
  • #2: The Cuckoo Clock: When Stan destroys the cuckoo clock "accidentally," Soos and Mabel work together to make it better than new.

Tropes:

  • A Day in the Limelight: For Soos, being the star of his own series of shorts.
  • Awesome, but Impractical: The "New And Improved" Cuckoo Clock. It looks awesome, but it's permanently set to 1:50 ("Its hands are in the air, like it just doesn't care," says Soos). However, because it's no longer going "Cuckoo!," Stan gives it a 10 on the Awesomeometer.
  • Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: In "The Golf Cart", Soos does little vignettes such as battling a bat with laser eyes. However, since he does it before editing, it results in a confused Dipper and Wendy.
  • Blatant Lies:
    • Wendy explains to Soos that she and Dipper broke the golf cart doing "normal work stuff." Cut to them attempting to jump over Stan’s car.
    • Soos says that Stan knocked down the cuckoo clock by accident. Cut to Stan beating the clock to bits with his bat and screaming "This is not an accident".
  • Call-Back: Soos tapes parts of the videos in his new break room, given to him by Dipper after the events of Carpet Diem.
  • Description Cut: Soos claims that Stan "accidentally" broke the cuckoo clock. Cue a clip of Stan brutally destroying the clock with a baseball bat while shouting "This is definitely not an accident!"
  • Every Car Is a Pinto: Wendy and Dipper's first attempt to jump Stan’s car in the golf cart ends up with the golf cart tipping over before it even reaches the ramp... and then it catches fire.
  • Hidden Depths: Soos managed to turn the golf cart into a functional rocket car.
  • Mundane Made Awesome: Soos' videos make his repair jobs look a lot more exciting.
  • Ramp Jump: Wendy and Dipper attempt this on the golf cart, when Soos fixes it he adds rockets to it, making it fly and crash on the Mystery Shack.
  • Shout-Out: To Cameo's "Word up".
Its hands are in the air, like it just doesn't care
  • Special Effects Failure: In-Universe, Soos's special effects which are poorly edited.
  • Stuff Blowing Up: At the end of "The Cuckoo Clock," Soos' computer explodes after he goes overboard on video effects.
  • Stylistic Suck: "Hey, dudes, and welcome to Fixin' It With Soos, the only show I edited myself on my own computer." And it shows.

"SOLVED!!!"

Parodied, then played straight. The ending of "Fixin' it With Soos: Cuckoo Clock" has Soos creating an overly elaborate ending for the episode, mainly consisting of a montage of various things blowing up (using the same live-action explosion effect for each explosion), before ending with a a shot of Soos standing dramatically at the edge of a clifftop and shouting "SOLVED!" into the heavens. To cap it all off, the scene cuts back to Soos' office where the episode officially ends with Soos' computer struggling to render the video project, before ultimately exploding.

How well does it match the trope?
