"Jukebox Jon" provides examples of:

  • Alliterative Title: Jukebox Jon.
  • Be the Ball: While Jon is sleeping with the Shlocko Hypno Snoozifier equipped, Garfield decides to bowl some milk bottles over using Odie as the ball. Unfortunately, Garfield rolls Odie too hard, as Odie spins out of control and ends up hitting the table where the Hypno Snoozifier is playing the nail-biting record, breaking the record as a result.
  • Rapid-Fire Nail Biting: In this episode, Jon is shown to be a nail biter, and finds out such habits turned off Mr. Mogul, a potential employer.
  • Sleep Learning: This episode has Jon preparing for a pitch to a publisher (his little-seen job is as a cartoonist). The publisher, Mr. Mogul, doesn't like Jon's nail-biting habit, so Jon tries using a sleep-learning record to cure himself. Garfield and Odie accidentally destroy the record and replace it with cartoon sound effects, a Spanish-language tutoring record, and a "Hits of the 1950s" collection. At the meeting, all Jon can produce is "Hola, Paco, ¿Qué tal?", doo-wop music, and machine-gun noises. As it turns out, Mr. Mogul is really a Mexican immigrant named Paco, who likes doo-wop, and the sound effects match Jon's submission very well. Unfortunately, Jon still hasn't cured his nail-biting habit, so he doesn't get published.
  • Unconventional Food Usage: In the infomercial advertising the Shlocko Hypno Snoozifier, one such bad habit cured by it is wearing tuna fish as a hat.
  • Vinyl Shatters: When Garfield bowls Odie into the table where the Hypno Snoozifier is playing self-hypnosis records to help Jon stop biting his nails, the records come off the turntable and break, each in two large pieces and a bunch of little pieces.
