• Adapted Out: In the manga, Lust makes a reference to the Homunculi's Father after killing Cornello. In one of the first hints that this anime will be going in a different direction, she doesn't do so here.
• Engineered Public Confession: Ed was counting on Cornello to expose himself once the former rigged up a radio for the latter to speak into. The false prophet ends up blustering his cruel plan for control and using his believers for canon fodder for the whole city to hear.
• Foreshadowing: Rose suspects that something's fishy with "Cain's" resurrection when she sees a mysterious clump of feathers by his bed.
• Wham Shot: To Rose's shock, "Cain" was never resurrected. Instead, she is treated to the horrific sight of a parakeet-like chimera that Cornello fashioned to sound like Cain and look like him from behind veiled curtains.
