Fireman Sam S 3 E 2
(aka: Fireman Sam Spot Of Bother)

Go To

Spot of Bother is the 2nd episode in Series 3 of Fireman Sam.

To get out of retaking a spelling test, Norman fakes chickenpox.

There is a book adaptation of this episode as part of the Buzz Books series.

Tropes:

  • Chekhov's Gun: A negative example: Early on in the episode, Elvis puts stew in the oven to cook. That same meal is what causes the episode's fire, as Elvis was sent off for a jog, leaving the oven unattended.
  • Chickenpox Episode: Zigzagged; Dilys mentions in the opening that there's a chickenpox outbreak in town, which gives Norman the idea to fake chickenpox, then later draw spots on Elvis and Trevor while they're sleeping...but then he catches chickenpox for real!
  • Playing Sick: After hearing that there's a chickenpox outbreak in town, Norman picks up a red marker to pretend he's got spots so he doesn't have to retake the spelling test.
  • Product Placement: Dilys has Cadbury Creme Eggs in her store, which Sam picks up for Sarah and James to celebrate their last day of school.
  • Wardrobe Malfunction: Trevor tears the seat of his trousers while doing stretches.
