Fireman Sam S 1 E 5
(aka: Fireman Sam S 1 E 5 Camping)

Go To

Camping is the fifth episode of Fireman Sam.

Sam, Sarah, and James go out on a camping trip, which quickly goes awry.

Tropes:

  • Alliterative Name: An animal named Ferdinand the frog appears.
  • Bland-Name Product: There are a number of products on Dilys' store shelves that are stand-ins for real merchandise, such as "BT" teabags for "PG Tips" (complete with the green and red lettering), and ZAZ for "Daz" laundry powder.
  • Camping Episode: The Jones family is going camping, and they attempt to rough it out on Pandy Lane. However, first they forget a sleeping bag, then Trevor's bus breaks down while bringing the sleeping bag back, and their tent catches fire. In the end, they move the camping to Sam's yard.
  • Foreshadowing: Trevor's bus backfires quite a bit during the episode. By the time it returns to the Jones' camping site, the engine is smoking.
  • Hero Ball: For the first time in the series, the episode's fire is Sam's fault; while trying to help Trevor with his bus, he leaves the campfire unattended, and a flaming log rolls away, lighting the tent on fire.
