Fireman Sam S 16 E 18
(aka: Fireman Sam S 16 E 18 Sailing Lesson)

Go To

Sailing Lesson is the 18th episode in Series 16 of Fireman Sam.

Charlie takes the kids for a sailing lesson, but becomes discouraged when it seems Peter has surpassed him in skill.

Tropes:

  • Big Eater: Invoked; while demonstrating that treats can calm a horse down, Elvis pretends to feed the training dummy horse a carrot, a sugar cube, an apple, and some hay.
  • Bird-Poop Gag: A smart seagull sees the sailors in danger and goes to alert Ben. He does this by crapping on the window at the Ocean Rescue Centre.
  • Continuity Nod: Elvis' habit of treating fire station dummies like people, as seen in Series 6 and 7, is brought back when he gets a little too excited to pet a dummy horse.
  • Idiot Ball: Charlie sets off the conflict by trying to upstage a child at sailing. While Charlie is no stranger to jealousy (see "Whale Watch"), to compete so fiercely with an eleven-year-old is just silly.
