Gary discovers a way to communicate with Quinn through Final Space. Meanwhile, Little Cato is trying to cope with the fact that his father doesn't remember him.

- Apologetic Attacker: A tearful Little Cato profusely apologizes after shooting his father.
- Brainwashed and Crazy: Invictus manipulates Avocato into trying to kill Gary and Little Cato.
- Dark Is Not Evil: Phil is a tall shadow man who wears a goat-like animal skin, has a creepy voice, and claims to have a map to Quinn's exact location inside his pocket, which is also filled with infant shadow arms. All Gary needs to do to get the map is reach into Phil's pocket and grab it. Sounds like Shmuck Bait, right? WRONG! Turns out Phil is a man of his word.
- There's also the creepy figures that point Gary in the direction he needs to go.
- Darkest Hour: Avocato is made a vessel for Invictus, and Gary is lingering on the brink of death again.
- Discovering Your Own Dead Body: Gary discovers hundreds of dead alternate versions of himself in Quinn's location.
- Downer Ending: Invictus takes over Avocato's body and makes him shoot Gary, forcing a heartbroken Little Cato to shoot him back, after which the possessed Avocato swears to kill him.
- Foreshadowing: That bit Avocato says about Little Cato being no son of his? He literally meant it.
- Glowing Eyes: Both Gary and Avocato have them after being possessed by Invictus.
- I Have No Son!: Invictus compels Avocato into saying this in regards to Little Cato.
- "I Know You're in There Somewhere" Fight: Gary and later Avocato fall victim to this due to Invictus' influence.
- Meaningful Echo: After Little Cato leaves a comatose Gary in a medical bay pod, he breaks down the same way he did after seeing his father die.
- My God, What Have I Done?: Avocato has this reaction when he suddenly remembered that 4 billion life forms were wiped out, and was fearful on whether he was the cause.
- Little Cato's entire body language screams this when he shoots Avocato to draw out Invictus, and denounces him as a father when this fails to do so.
- Romantic Candlelit Dinner: Between Tribore and Shannon, the latter wearing a mirror over her face since Tribore only loves his female-self (he switches gender every six months).
- Sadistic Choice: Little Cato is forced between shooting his possessed father and him finishing off Gary.
- Slasher Smile: Gary sports a very creepy one after being possessed by Invictus.
- Strange Minds Think Alike: Following an amusingly illogical discussion, the crew tries to cure Avocato's amnesia by whipping him. When Tribore makes his entrance he comments "I know a good memory whipping when I see one".
- Static Stun Gun: HUE uses a taser on Clarence when he tries to abandon Gary, Little Cato, and Avocato.
- The Reveal: Tribore transitions between being a male and a female depending on the month.
- Tom the Dark Lord: A tall creepy figure shows up behind Gary and introduces himself as... Phil.
- Unwanted Rescue: This turns out to have been Quinn's message to the crew. And though she does clearly want out of the death realm, Quinn insists that Gary leave before Invictus finds and takes over his body.
- Wham Episode:
- Invictus possesses Gary and severely beats Avocato and Little Cato down. He then decides to use Avocato as his next vessel after sensing his strength. Little Cato is forced to shoot his father, but Invictus takes him away.
- Gary is seemingly mortally wounded and placed in a life preserver tank. The episode ends with Little Cato putting his helmet on the top of the machine.
- X-Ray Sparks: Happens to Clarence when H.U.E. zaps him with a taser.
