Recap / Fillmore Test Of The Tested

Go To

  • The Bad Guy Wins: The Safety Patrol recovers the tests and Elliot gets detention, but he only stole the tests in the first place because he wanted to impress Enid and it worked like a charm.
  • Flowers of Romance:
    • Lampshaded by Fillmore when he sees a bouquet on Ingrid's desk and assumes she has an admirer. Averted when Ingrid states that the bouquet was a thank you from Folsom for her performance on the SATTY-9.
    • It’s the chrysanthemum bouquets Enid finds in her locker that helps Ingrid figure out who stole the tests and why.
  • Love Makes You Evil: Elliot’s crush on Enid motivated him to steal the completed SATTY-9 tests since she's against them.
  • Male Gaze: This episode gives us a good look at Folsom's backside.
  • Mooning: Elliot accidentally moons Vallejo with his torn boxers.
  • Never the Obvious Suspect: Seth and Auggie are both suspected of stealing the completed tests. It’s revealed that Seth cheated on the test and Auggie was stealing tartar sauce packets from the cafeteria, but neither of them stole the tests.
  • Redhead in Green: Elliot is a redhead and dresses in green.
  • Shout-Out: A surprisingly in-depth one. During the episode's chase scene, the cheerleading coach praises them for being "as solid as a Geodude using Harden attack!"note
  • Slippery Skid: Ingrid uses one of these with chocolate candies to catch Elliot.
  • Soapbox Sadie: Enid counts as this protesting the SATTY-9.
  • To Be Lawful or Good: Discussed aversion, Ingrid almost let a person of interest named Seth escape due to his creativity not being shown in the SATTY-9 scores, however Fillmore reminds her that as Safety Patrol Officers, they are tasked with enforcing the rules even if they don't like it, not only that but the rest of the student populace has other sanctioned means to express their discontent and stealing is still a crime even in the name of civil disobedience.
  • Wounded Gazelle Gambit: Elliot is able to cast suspicion off him by claiming someone stole his mascot costume and tied him up to commit the crime. Fillmore realizes his story doesn't hold when Fillmore proves no one could've gone through the window with the costume on.
