Tropes:
- Big Eater: Ox-Demon King made a deal with the Buddha to get rid of disinfectant smell that's on his wife's food.
- Canon Foreigner: The Bronze Horned King (Medusa) didn't exist in the original tale. She's just there because the Gold and Silver Horned Kings (Stheno and Euryale) wanted someone to abuse.
- Casting Gag: Red Boy (Mordred) states he sounds just like his mother (Nightengale) referring to the fact that both characters are voiced by Miyuki Sawashiro.
- Dark Is Not Evil: The Ox-Demon King (Lancer Altria Alter) is only standing against the protagonists because he made a deal with the Buddha and even wishes them luck after they defeat him.
- Debut Queue: Xuanzang Sanzang first appears here before being added to the gacha permanently.
- Hilariously Abusive Childhood: The Red Boy (Mordred) suffers quite a lot at the hands of his tyrannical germaphobe of a mother. To fully understand the picture, she dunks his head in a bucket of peroxide to disinfect a scratch on his face.
- Horse of a Different Color: The White Dragon Horse is just Lu Bu.
- My Beloved Smother: The Iron Fan Princess (Nightingale) is an insane germaphobe who torments her son (Mordred) and husband (Lancer Altria Alter) with her ideas of cleanliness.
- No Kill like Overkill: The Banana Fan is actually Excalibur. Sanzang still uses it to extinguish the Flaming Mountains, which works much faster than the actual fan would have.
- Whole-Plot Reference: To Journey to the West of course. The plot is Sanzang trying to recreate the story with existing Servants as substitutes for the missing characters.
- Year Outside, Hour Inside: After Chaldea finally contacts the protagonist again, it's revealed it's been four days for Chaldea but a month inside the singularity.
