Go To

Brian becomes a hardcore Republican after Rush Limbaugh convinces Brian to read his latest book to actually understand the right wing's beliefs instead of blindly bashing them.

Tropes:

  • Breather Episode: After the dark Wham Episode that was "And Then There Were Fewer" which involved certain characters getting Killed Off for Real, this one is an episode involving Brian becoming a Republican after reading Rush Limbaugh's latest book.
  • Brick Joke: Rush Limbaugh entices Brian to read his latest book by putting a slice of bologna in one of the pages. Later, after Brian finds that he likes the book, he turns a page and sees the bologna Limbaugh promised him.
  • Commander Contrarian: Lois calls out Brian for always taking the unpopular opinion just so he can seem smart.
  • Food as Bribe: Rush Limbaugh initially got Brian to read his book by putting bologna in it.
  • Sinister Suffocation: Brian joins the Republican Party and tries to waterboard Nancy Pelosi. This extremist act disgusts Rush Limbaugh, who tells Brian that he is not a true conservative.
  • Take That!: The only reason Brian got into the book in the first place was that he decided to read it after seeing how bad the latest episode of The Office (US) was.
    • To Fox News. Lois says everything that's reported in Fox News is a lie. When Chris says it was Lois herself who made the report about Rush, Lois says that even if it had been true before, Fox reporting on it makes it a lie.
    • In the act break of the second act, when Brian announces he is moving in with Limbaugh, Stewie remarks how Fox has come up with worse ideas. This is followed by a fake ad for the then-recently cancelled Sons Of Tucson.
Stewie: Let us remember, America, that this was a thing.
  • Would Rather Suffer: When Rush Limbaugh asks Brian to read his latest book, Brian responds "I'd sooner spend the night watching European porn".

The Griffins watch a widescreen version of The Brady Bunch, which includes six half-naked black men at the edges of the 1.77:1 aspect ratio, who apparently weren't visible in the show's original 1.33:1.
