Surprisingly, this is the worst thing he does in the entire episode.

After flash floods hit Quahog, Meg is injured and Peter resolves to change the way he treats her from now on. Meg falls for a medical intern named Michael but Peter's overprotective nature drives him away. Meg discovers she's pregnant and Peter attempts to force Michael into a Shotgun Wedding. On the day of the wedding, Meg discovers she's not actually pregnant, Michael skips out and Meg is left once more alone.
Meanwhile Stewie and Brian decide to fix up a house together, only to wind up destroying it and killing an electrician.
This episode contains examples of:
- Accidental Murder: Stewie ends up killing the electrician by blowing up the house with him still inside. Interestingly, he tries to pin half the blame on Brian, who had no real hand in the murder.
- Aesop Amnesia: Following this episode, Peter seemingly forgets entirely everything he learned in this one. If anything, he treats Meg worse.
- Ass Shove: During the striptease for Meg's bachelorette party, Meg loses both her hat and glasses inside Peter's butt.
- Bait-and-Switch: Peter says he'll deal with Meg's baby. The next scene shows him holding an old wire hanger and telling Meg to turn over... because she's lying on his shirt that he wants to hang up before they go talk to Michael.
- Boyfriend-Blocking Dad: Peter becomes this temporarily.
- Everyone Has Standards: As much as Meg may hate Connie for her bullying, she's quick to start yelling at Peter to stop when he retaliates by smashing her face against a fire extinguisher box.
- Fan Disservice: A half-naked overweight Peter performing a striptease for his own daughter at her bachelorette party.
- Fire and Brimstone Hell: Parodied with Doggy Hell, as the Devil terrorizes dogs with a running vacuum cleaner.
- Good Girls Avoid Abortion: Meg doesn't want an abortion when it's discovered she's "pregnant."
- Hollywood Drowning: Averted with Meg, somewhat. She does drown very quickly and very quietly, not thrashing or calling for help. However, she is trapped completely under the water, with her shirt pinned to the refrigerator.
- Incest Subtext: In part of his trying to be a better loving dad to Meg and not knowing any better, Peter not only hosts a bachelorette party for Meg but he is very insistent that he should be the one stripping for Meg at her bachelorette party.
- I Never Said It Was Poison: Peter's disguise was already pretty questionable, but he really hurts himself when Meg simply refers to him as "Dad" and he denies it by saying he's not Peter.
- I "Uh" You, Too: Lois uses this exact response after an, "I love you," from Meg.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: In this episode (and this episode alone), Peter graduates from Jerkass to this.
- Karma Houdini: Brian and Stewie's plot ends with a guy accidentally being killed. Stewie (who was actually responsible) tries to pin half the blame on Brian and says he's going to Doggy Hell.
- Kick the Dog: Although averted with Peter's treatment of Meg, everyone else still decides to get in a few good shots. These include Stewie commenting on Meg's 'fat shoulders' (as she's walking down the aisle).
- My God, What Have I Done?: Peter comes to this point after a flashback montage of terrible things he's done to Meg (including shooting her in the chest/shoulder with an actual gun). He resolves to treat her better. For the episode.
- No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: "Uh, you see that fire extinguisher there?"
- No Sense of Personal Space: Peter gets very up close and personal to his uncomfortable daughter Meg by stripping for her at her bachelorette party.
- Nerds Are Virgins: A cutaway has a suicide bomber entering Heaven to claim his 72 virgins, only to find a bunch of male nerds playing Magic: The Gathering.
- No Periods, Period: At the wedding, Meg discovers she's not really pregnant when she gets her period.
- Overly Long Gag: The "Over" runner between Brian and Stewie.
- Paper-Thin Disguise: In a scene when Meg and Michael are dating in a restaurant, Peter wears a disguise composed of the following: buck teeth, a straw hat, funny-shaped eyebrows, and two beards under his balls-shaped chin. He also fakes an accent. Neither Meg nor Michael buy the disguise.
- Papa Wolf: Peter becomes extremely protective of Meg, including beating up Connie and threatening Michael.
- Parental Neglect: Averted with Peter, save for the opening scene. Lois is also fairly kind to Meg throughout, comforting her when she believes she's pregnant.
- Pet the Dog: Majorly with Peter. He acknowledges how terribly he's treated Meg in the past and resolves to treat her better from now on — even if he does go overboard.
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Michael when he learns Meg isn't pregnant.
- Secret Test of Character: Peter asks Michael if he ever sits on his arm until it falls asleep and uses it to masturbate while pretending it's someone else. Michael admits he does, which earns Peter's approval, if only briefly.
- Skewed Priorities: Peter is more concerned about a case of beer than he is about his house being flooded and his daughter nearly drowning.
- Spoonerism: Doctor Hartman falls victim to this trope and tells Peter and Lois that "Your coma's in a daughter" instead of "Your daughter's in a coma", before spending about a minute laughing his ass off about it.
- Status Quo Is God: As with Family Guy, Peter seemingly learns nothing following this episode and gets worse in his cruelty towards Meg.
- Take That!: When Michael is on a date with Meg, he gives her a Maroon 5 CD which Michael tells her is "something they'll both hate".
- Tranquil Fury: "I just want to talk to him."
- Vicious Vac: 'Doggy Hell' seems to consist of the Devil teasing dogs with a vacuum cleaner endlessly.
