Esteban is sick, which means he can't attend the annual Feast of Friendship, so Elena fills in for him only to compete with Dona Paloma about how the feast should go. In order to beat Elena at her own game, Dona has the guests put on masks that are believed to be magical—and indeed they are, as the guests turn into the animals that the masks symbolize.
