"We mow all this grass?"

When Ed and Eddy see the sticky notes Edd's parents leave him, the latter is dismayed that his father wants him to mow the lawn, which he detests. Ed mows the lawn but causes more harm than good. To make the grass grow back faster, Eddy uses his father's manure and decides to use it on everyone's lawn, then mow it for money. When Ed splatters the manure on every lawn of the neighborhood, the grass grows very high.

Tropes

  • Accidental Ventriloquism: The Eds try to help Sarah and Jimmy out of the tall grass they grew by mowing it with Victor the goat. After all the grass is mowed but the two are nowhere to be found, Ed hears Sarah calling to him and he believes that Victor had eaten her. Sarah had actually made it back to the house.
  • Balloon Belly: After Victor eats all the grass, his body is bloated into a giant ball
  • Big Brother Instinct: Ed immediately drops everything to try and find Sarah when she is trapped in the long grass.
  • Bittersweet Ending: The Eds manage to mow all the lawns and return Victor to Rolf, but they get trapped with him in a mud pit, where Victor tries to eat their hair and Edd's hat, forcing them to dunk themselves in the mud to avoid him, and only time will tell how long before Rolf comes to their rescue.
  • Calling Me a Logarithm: Edd tries to tell Eddy that the giant bag of manure is too much for his backyard, but his Sesquipedalian Loquaciousness confuses Eddy.
Edd: But... we're constrained by the intimacy of our situation.
Eddy: And you kiss your mother with that mouth?
  • Gone Horribly Right: Eddy has Ed splatter the manure all over the cul-de-sac for the grass to grow tall enough for the Eds to mow for cash. The grass grows high. Too high, in fact, causing Sarah and Jimmy, out on a picnic, to be trapped and clinging onto each other, screaming for help, forcing the boys to abandon everything and help a hysterical Ed look for his sister.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Eddy helps Edd mow the lawn with no strings attached by tricking Ed into "attacking the Whibbles" with the push mower. When it backfires and leaves the yard a mess, Eddy busts out his dad's brand of manure to grow the grass back, and his scam of the day only comes after he sees the profit from it. And even though he despises Sarah, Eddy nonetheless helps look for her when he sees how panicked Ed is.
  • Obstructive Bureaucrat: Before he can lend Victor to the Eds, Rolf makes them (well, Edd) sign a ridiculous amount of paperwork, as renting goats is Serious Business in The Old Country.
  • Overly Long Gag: Ed ringing Edd's doorbell repeatedly, even after Edd has let them in.
  • Smelly Feet Gag: Edd asks his friends to take off their shoes before coming in, as he has just waxed the floor. When Ed takes off his, the smell is overwhelming.
Eddy: I think the circus is in town.
