Airdate: October 6, 1999

When Zak and Wheezie argue over how to build their new playground, Quetzal gives them magic crystals which splits them into two separate bodies. At first they are overjoyed, but they soon begin to miss each other, knowing sometimes two heads are better than one.

"Not Separated At Birth" contains examples of:

  • Body Wipe: While Zak and Wheezie are flying around after rejoining, their tummy fills the screen before the view fades to Max and Emmy's playroom.
  • Both Sides Have a Point: It turns out Zak and Wheezie each have a point in how to go about building a playground. As much as Wheezie wants to build the xylophone slide freestyle, Max and Ord point out that the final result is a mess that hardly qualifies as a slide. So Zak has a point that sometimes, it pays to read the instructions and follow them. Meanwhile, Zak wants to build the drum trampolines so they don't bounce too high, therefore making them "safer". But Cassie and Emmy voice that it's hardly fun to play on a trampoline that doesn't really let you jump, meaning he also needs Wheezie's perspective to loosen up and let things be fun.
  • Magical Incantation: The magic crystals Zak and Wheezie use to get separated.
    • "Alakazoo! Split in two!" - Separates them.
    • "Alakazoo! Stick like glue!" - Rejoins them.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: When Cassie (along with Emmy) voices Wheezie's catch phrase that the unbouncable drum trampoline is "boooriiing!", Zak realizes he needs Wheezie's input to make them more fun.

While Quetzal is sick, the gang decides to build a kite for him to cheer him up, but building one requires planning and they find themselves getting the same materials when nobody decides who should get what.

"A Kite For Quetzal" contains examples of:
