Cell gets some unwanted advice from the island locals.

With the Z-Fighters regrouping at Kami's Lookout, Semi-Perfect Cell is left to search out Android's 16 and 18 only to get distracted by the locals. Meanwhile, Bulma comes with gear to help the Z-Fighters as Goku and Gohan enter the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.

These tropes are easily the greatest thing you've ever produced:

  • Breather Episode: Of sorts as it's in between episodes that feature a lot of fighting.
  • Berserk Button: Cell bashes it with Vegeta, telling him that he would be more useful finding someone more substantial than the Saiyan prince. He then makes the mistake of using Goku as an example.
Cell: Aw, what's wrong, Prince? Did I touch a nerve?
Trunks: You pressed the "Goku Button".
    Cell: I'm sorry, the wha—
(Vegeta socks Cell in the gut)
    Vegeta: You shouldn't'a did that.
  • Call-Back:
    • The first person that interrupts Cell is introduced as Tom. Tom is more or less a [only] friend in Piccolo's MySpace account before he was replaced by Goku in the first episode of the Abridged series.
    • The Goku Button is pressed again, this time by Cell. Like Trunks, he earned a punched to the gut by Vegeta.
    • Tien and Piccolo refuse to wear the space armor Bulma is distributing. In canon, it was because it reminded them of Vegeta and Nappa's massacre against them and Earth's citizens. Here, it's not for no real reason.
  • Description Cut: Before leaving the lookout, Trunks expresses concern on what horror's Cell is causing. It soon cuts to Cell listening to Sally talk about her marriage counseling.
  • Distracting Disambiguation: While Cell is calling out for Android 18, residents of the nearby islands start to yell back with some relationship advice.
  • Effortless Achievement: Vegeta unironically praises Bulma for making new space armor, more so than conceiving their baby.
  • Imagine Spot: Vegeta mentions full-blooded Saiyans with regards to hair (as opposed to Trunks' hair growing out since he's a half-Saiyan), saying they only get customization with beards and mustaches. Goku imagines Vegeta with a mustache.
  • Moment Killer: When Goku dons Bulma's Saiyan armor and comments that he now looks like Vegeta, Vegeta gets annoyed and leaves.
  • Mythology Gag: Vegeta's mention about beards and mustaches is based on his appearance in Dragon Ball GT, where he had a mustache which he shaved off after being criticized by his future daughter Bulla/Bra. Dragon Ball Super had him and Goku grow beards after spending three years in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber in one episode.
  • Once Done, Never Forgotten: Goku still hasn't forgotten that Krillin's death was a trigger for him becoming a Super Saiyan for the first time. He wants to help Gohan become a Super Saiyan but needs a new method because, alas, Krillin's not there to "die for him".
  • Rage Breaking Point: Cell is already losing patience for trying to find 18 without the islands' residents stopping him. Eventually, the string of Relative Error misunderstandings, specifically Sally's quip about "inadequacies in the bedroom", is what causes him to get fed up and blow up the islands in hopes of finding the Android.
    Cell: Aaaaaand we're done.
  • Relative Error: The islanders all believe that Cell and 18 are a couple having relationship issues rather than brother and sister, respectively, with Cell simply wanting to absorb her and evolve to his Perfect form.
  • Running Gagged:
    • The uncomfortable awkwardness between Future Trunks and his mother Bulma finally ends after the former spent an entire year with his father Vegeta in the Time Chamber.
    • Gohan has some lip for Goku when he tries to use the Phrase Catcher:
Goku: And we're gonna fight. A lot.
      Gohan: I need an adult.
      Goku: I am an adult—
Gohan: No. No, you are not.
  • Shout-Out: Goku makes a Malproper Call-Back to Vegeta's "Renegade for Life" line, saying instead "Paragon till Death". Both Paragon and Renegade are heroic and anti-heroic choices for the Mass Effect video game series, which is fitting for Goku and Vegeta, respectfully.
  • Unusually Uninteresting Sight: None of the inhabitants of an archipelago bat an eye at a bug-like monster floating in the sky. They even try to "help" with his "lady problems", much to his annoyance. They don't have time to panic when Cell starts raining fire on them to weed out 18.
  • Unwanted Assistance: Cell just wants to find 18 without random people shouting relationship advice at him.

"MOUSTAAAACHE."
