Short Summary
After the end of the Universe 6 Tournament, our heroes continue on with their lives and misadventures. However while Monaka is doing his deliveries, Goten and Trunks accidentally stow away on his ship and wind up on a planet named Potaufeu which is being attacked by a criminal after a superhuman water which is being guarded by a sole inhabitant named Potage. The two agree to help him but things quickly escalate and it isn't long before Vegeta and Goku soon arrive to get involved.

Tropes:
- Accidental Hero: Monaka saves everyone from the Commeson by accidentally stepping on the Commeson's core. This weakens Copy-Vegeta, given Goku an opening to kill him.
- Artifact of Doom: The Commeson. A special liquid that could steal the powers and will of those it touches in order to copy their form, made by the people of Potafeu to defeat invaders by stealing their strength. Problem is, when it absorbed the will of evil people, it became evil as well, and grew a desire to copy everyone it could to become stronger, forcing the Potafeuans to sacrifice themselves to seal it away.
- Assimilation Backfire: Given the Commeson's absorption powers, this happens a lot. In the backstory, the original weapon Commeson became evil because it absorbed the evil of Potafeu's invaders, and was ultimately sealed by absorbing the Potafeuans after they'd taken a special antidote. In the story, absorbing Vegeta means that the copy had his strong will and Honor Before Reason, and so couldn't be controlled and wouldn't use any Combat Pragmatist tactics.
- Bait-and-Switch Boss: Gryll and his goons are set up as the major threat of this arc after they get their hands on the Commeson, which was said to multiply strength. Then it turns out that what the Commeson actually does is copy whoever touches it, so the purple Gryll is actually a copy, and the real deal died shortly afterwards.
- Blob Monster: What the Commeson looks like when it doesn't copy anyone.
- Breather Episode: A short arc that's a cool down from the Champa arc and before the incoming Future arc.
- The Cameo: Arale shows up in one episode while Goku is having trouble with his instant transmission and teleports to Penguin Village. He zips out just as she's greeting him.
- Curb-Stomp Battle: Copy-Vegeta, being equally powerful to post-godhood Vegeta, quickly defeats Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks in his Base Form, not charging his Ki, and intentionally allowing Gotenks to throw everything he has at him.
- Fading Away: This starts to happen to Vegeta when he gets cloned by the alien water. This being Vegeta, he's more annoyed than concerned.
- Forgotten First Meeting: However brief, it appears Goku and Arale don't recognise each other. Justified, because over 30 years have passed since their first meeting.
- Heroic RRoD: As a result of the reckless way he used his Ki against Hit during the Multiverse Tournament, Goku suffers from "Delayed Onset Ki Disorder" and can't fly, teleport, or fight properly.
- Honor Before Reason: Copy-Vegeta retains Vegeta's sense of honor that it refuses to win with cheap tricks and is so strong that it manages to override Copy-Gryll (and in the turn the Commeson's) control over him to fight Goku on even terms.
- Innocuously Important Episode: Despite being a Monster of the Week mini-arc, it sets up the Future Trunks arc in a few ways: the mysterious blue liquid Bulma is making at the start of the arc turns out to be time machine fuel, and the entire premise of Vegeta getting an Evil Counterpart is Foreshadowing for Goku Black (Lampshaded by Goku when Vegeta fights Goku Black, as he comments that now he knows how Vegeta felt during the Copy Vegeta fight).
- Motivational Lie: One of the single unrelated episodes reveal that Chi-Chi didn't blow all the money Mr. Satan had given them and she fibbed so Goku could work harder in supporting his family.
- No Body Left Behind: The reason the Commeson is such a threat is becomes when it takes on the likeness of the person it imitates, that person begins to disappear after a set of time. This happens to Gryll and his squad and almost to Vegeta.
- Power Incontinence: Goku's Delayed Onset Ki Disorder means that he can't control his flight, teleportation, or strength, which leads to some embarrassment when he tries to teleport to King Kai and instead gets Bulma's bedroom.
- Race Against the Clock: After Vegeta gets copied the heroes have to beat the Copy-Vegeta before the real Vegeta disappears.
- Real Men Wear Pink: Piccolo is a very nursing and caring babysitter and it shows.
- Stealth Pun: The key used for Comméson's can was a bin-key.
- Sole Survivor: Potage is the only one left of his people.
- What the Hell, Hero?: Nearly everyone calls Vegeta on this when he tries to interrupt the fight between Goku and his copy, wondering whose side he's supposed to be on. It's Played for Laughs of course.
