Rita travels back in time to 1917, and learns about the history of Laura De Mille and the Sisterhood of Dada.

- Does This Remind You of Anything?: The Bureau of Normalcy was already a representative of institutionalised bigotry, but in 1917, they're shown to impose Jim Crow-like segregation on Metas under their "employment". They separate them into a different area of work, forcing them to eat separately from normal employees, and when Rita sits down with some the table all move away and the entire canteen stares at her until she's escorted away.
