Bittersweet Ending: More or less bordering on Downer Ending. While Doom Patrol managed to free Cyborg and the rest of the prisoners and practically crippled the Bureau of Normalcy, Mr. Nobody manipulated Grid into provoking Cyborg to kill his father.
The Cuckoolander Was Right: The General of the Bureau's only line of dialogue is that, no matter what Darren does, they must not upset the butts. Sure enough, the butts getting loose brings down the entire Ant Farm.
Driven to Suicide: The General immediately pulls out a gun when faced with the prospect of the Butts.
The Extremist Was Right: Or at least, managed to catch a few things that should be imprisoned, even if the Bureau's many victims certainly outnumber the army of man-eating butts.
Foreshadowing: Prisoner 722 overhearing Grid talking to Vic is the first time anyone has been able to hear Grid at all. Its also an indication that Grid might not even be Grid at the time.
