  • Dramatic Spotlight: When K. Rool starts singing "Do You Know What This Means?" he is lit by a stage light.
  • Hostage for MacGuffin: Done musically in the "Diddy Drop Rap", where K. Rool threatens to throw Diddy off a cliff unless DK gives up the Crystal Coconut. "Diddy for the Coconut / The Coconut for Diddy!"
  • Kneel Before Zod: K. Rool declarers victory when he has the Crystal Coconut and orders Klump and Krusha to kneel before him during his Villain Song.
  • Mondegreen Gag: After Donkey Kong and Diddy make Cranky forget his game plan for the upcoming soccer game, Cranky goes over to Bluster to ask him about it. However, Bluster has trouble hearing him over the sound of the Barrelworks' assembly line.
Cranky: I SAID, DO YOU REMEMBER THE WINNING PLAY?!
Bluster: What on earth are you talking about?! What windy day?!
    Cranky: WINNING PLAY!
Bluster: Pay?! Surely, you don't expect any pay without actually working! Only my job allows for that!
    [Candy deactivates the assembly line]
    Cranky: SOCCER!
Bluster: Sock her? (Gestures to Candy) Cranky, whatever are you talking about? Why, I would never strike an employee! They could sue me.
  • Sadistic Choice: See Hostage for MacGuffin, DK has to either hand over the Crystal Coconut or let K. Rool drop Diddy off a cliff. He takes a third option and kicks the coconut in his other hand at the snow above the villains. But even then DK isn't initially sure which one's the real one.
  • Villain Song: K. Rool's half "Do You Know What This Means?" is this, with him proclaiming victory now that he has the Crystal Coconut.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Cranky's half of "Do You Know What This Means?" is him giving DK and Diddy an earful for letting K. Rool get the Crystal Coconut, accidently switching it with a fake.
