While the rest of the crew explore a new planet, Stella remains on the Pluto to prepare for an upcoming interview for a chance at becoming a captain.
Unfortunately, she gets her hands full when they return as adorable puppies.
Settle Down contains examples of:
- Baby Morph Episode: The Pluto's crew (except Stella, but including Kira) are transformed into puppies for the majority of the episode, thanks to a shady salesman.
- Broken Record: Ed, Nomi, and Chonies chide Garbage about promising that the next planet they land on could be "the one", as he does several times.
- Choosy Beggar: The Pluto crew becomes a little depressed after many failed discoveries of a new planet for humans. Garbage is positive that the episode's planet could work... until they learn the water is literally made of bugs. Kira becomes annoyed that they are trying too hard to meet the Council and humanity's standard.
- Cuteness Proximity: Stella has a bit of a delayed reaction to the crew's baby-fication due to this.
- "Eureka!" Moment: While juggling between taking care of her puppy-fied allies and fighitng off space vultures, Stella laments how she can ever be considered captain material if she can't even run something as close to a "daycare". She then comes up with an idea: since the rest of the team are kids, she should treat the situation like an actual daycare and make the pups believe their escape is like a game.
- How We Got Here: The episode starts when Loaf freaks out after seeing everyone but Stella turned into puppies. It rewinds 24 hours earlier to see what led to that moment and the puppies themselves explain to Stella what exactly happened.
- Wham Shot: The rest of the Pluto are turned back to normal by the end of the episode. They all give Stella a thumbs up wishing her luck on her performance review, including Kira... who is shocked to see she now possesses opposable thumbs.
- Variations on a Theme Song: The show's theme is changed to showcase the puppy crew.
