Recap / Dinotrux S 02 E 05 Lair

Go To

D-Structs is tired of his small cave, and wants a bigger, better home. Even if he has to get more help to build it!

  • Instant Expert: Downplayed when Ty has himself painted black and declares himself to be a Stealth Expert. While being black does make him hard to see inside D-Structs' dark cave, Ty keeps clumsily bumping into things and making noise that threatens to give him away.
  • Lava Pit: An extremely desirable feature in a lair for D-Structs, he hangs Revvit over it when taken hostage.
  • Odd Name Out: The Scraptools D-Structs hires in addition to Skrap-It are named Break-Itt, Smash-Itt and Lloyd.
  • Spikes of Villainy: D-Structs steals a bunch of scrap metal from the Dinotrux solely to use it to decorate the outside of his lair with intimidating spikes.
  • Stealthy Colossus: "Shadow Ty", a massive Tyrannosaurus Trux painted entirely black. It's not perfect, as he bumps into things, is rather loud when driving, and has bright lights for eyes, but he genuinely can't be detected by anyone as long as he stands still and keeps his eyes closed.
  • Supervillain Lair: D-Structs builds himself one inside a volcano.
  • The Guards Must Be Crazy: Scraptools make extremely poor guards as they are easily distracted; as soon as one gets suspicious of something, the others complain and a fight breaks out. Ty catches onto this fairly quickly and starts instigating fights so he can sneak past more easily.
  • Throwing the Distraction: "Shadow Ty" throws a small bolt to distract the Scraptools. As they are Scraptools, it's not the sound that distracts them as much as the alluring piece of scrap metal.
  • You ALL Look Familiar: While D-Structs hires a whole lot of Scraptools, they are all copies of three different variants.
