Akira makes his stand for humanity.

As the world continues to spiral into chaos with paranoia over demons, Akira finds himself in the crosshairs thanks to Ryo's schemes. He continues to champion humans and fight to temper their rage and fear, but when his friends and loved ones are targeted by the masses, he will find his faith in humanity tested to its limits...

  • Burn Baby Burn: After killing Miki and her allies, the lynch mob decides to burn her house down.
  • Category Traitor: Miki's attempt to sympathize Akira's predicament on social media doesn't go as well as she hoped, resulting in a vast majority branding her a traitor to humanity by calling her a witch.
  • Cruel and Unusual Death: Miki dies by getting her entire back lacerated, and not content, the mob decides to cut her corpse into pieces to parade it around her house.
  • Despair Event Horizon: Akira crosses it when he discovers Miki was murdered, declaring humans to be the real demons and killing Miki's killers.
  • Downer Ending: While Akira is able to get out alive from Xenon's ambush, he's unable to get back to Miki in time; as Miki, Miko, Wam, and Gabi are brutally slaughtered by the mob.
  • Faceā€“Heel Turn: Hie sells out Wam, Gabi, Miki and Miko after having seen Kukun's sunglasses fall out of Miko's bag in the previous episode, while Babu joins the lynch mob when he gets cut off by a group of them while retrieving the escape car.
  • Failed a Spot Check: A variation. While waiting for Akira to confront him, Ryo is too focused on looking at images of him and Akira in their childhood to notice that Xenon's lackeys have planted bombs in his apartment.
  • Fond Memories That Could Have Been: The entire image of Akira driving along the road with Miki wrapping her arms around him counts as this.
  • Foregone Conclusion: Miki's death is the final nail in the coffin; making it clear at this point that the series will not have a happy ending.
  • Lighter and Softer: In a twisted sense. While being burned alive is still not a pleasant way to go, the lynch mob faced a much worse death at Akira's hands in the manga, where they were brutally ripped apart instead.
  • Moral Event Horizon: Zig-zagged. While the humans who murdered Akira's terrified and innocent loved ones before burning down their home, dismembering their corpses and parading the remains around on pikes certainly crossed the line, the event is so traumatic to Akira that he loses all faith in humanity and considers the entire species to be Beyond Redemption.
  • Roaring Rampage of Revenge:
    • Highly implied to be why Hie turns on the party, since he mistakenly believes that Miko killed Kukun and seeks to avenge him.
    • After seeing how a lynch mob had dismembered his friends and loved ones, especially Miki, Akira declares them to be worse than the demons and incinerates them all in a single shot.
  • The Starscream: Unlike in the original manga, where Xenon remains by Satan's side as his second in command until the very end, here he is revealed to be one from his plans to kill Ryo and Akira even though the former instructed everyone that no harm is to come to him.
  • Title Drop: The title of the episode is Akira's Pre-Mortem One-Liner to the mob that killed Miki.
  • Yandere: It's highly implied that Ryo exposed Akira as a Devilman not just to make the humans more paranoid, but to ensure that Akira would be alienated and would have no one else to turn to but him.
