Jones: Bateman bought a helicopter?! <player name> - could this be how the Ad Astrans are planning their getaway? We've got to stop them!

Cathy tracks down a helicopter purchased by Christian Bateman that Ad Astra can use to escape Grimsborough, and the player and Jones head out to stop them. When they arrive at the chopper, the only member that they find there is Bateman himself dead from a tranquilizer dart in his chest.

Tropes:

  • Alas, Poor Villain: As horrible of a person he was, it's possible to feel some sympathy for Christian's death. After abusing the super serum, his health took a massive turn for the worse which resulted in being in so much pain that he begged for Joe and Rozetta to kill him.
  • Asshole Victim: ...That being said, the sympathy is more likely to be towards the circumstances that led to his death, as Christian Bateman definitely applies for this trope. We find that the other members of Ad Astra have at least some decent or possibly redeeming quality to them, but Bateman didn't have a single one, considering he was a greedy venture capitalist who murdered a woman in lava because she rejected him and has been nothing but a prick to you.
  • Attack on the Heart: Christian Bateman was shot in the heart, but the weapon used was a tranquilizer dart.
  • Deadly Upgrade: The serum that gave Ad Astra their superpowers also greatly affected their health.
  • I Can't Believe I'm Saying This: After Joe is found guilty of Christian's death, Judge Powell had to sentence him in his cell, giving us this gem:
Judge Powell: I never thought I'd say this, but for reasons of telekinesis, we must hold this trial in the confines of this protective cell.
  • Mercy Kill: Due to constant use of his powers, Christian was in such pain that he begged to be killed, which Mayor Warren did.
  • Mundane Solution: The GBPD eventually finds Julia Brine in a farmhouse she owns, remembering she has the power to produce poisonous gas from her fingers. They get around this by... wearing gas masks.
